Plenty of outdoors seating and pleasant, sociable people, but the Bloody Mary I had here was traumatizing. I thought it was because I didn’t have experience with Bloody Marys, but my friends thought it was disgusting as well. The other drinks were decent.

This place is great for a warm summer day/night in the city! With a large back yard with picnic tables lined up throughout, bbq smells in the air, and tons of differnet type of people, its great! People watching is fun here too, you see a lot of regulars, then start wondering if you are a regular as well. Their BBQ is fairly good, perfect after you've had a few drinks. The cook seems a bit grumpy at times, but i like it cause it adds more flavor to the place. The bartenders are fabulous, quick on their feet. They must make bank there. Now, if you're looking for a good bloody mary, ZEITGEIST has my heart for bloodies! pint sized glass with 3/4 filled of vodka and a mix of all goodness in the other 1/4. Now, some might think, ewww, prob to strong. but NOPE! I dont know what they do but it goes down easy and quickly. Bitter sweet. :)

This has to be one of the coolest places in SF. Where else can you get a beer, meet chill people, get a tamale from the tamale lady, drink for breakfast, lunch and dinner, catch a contact high from people smoking pot?

Zeitgeist is like a giant playground. There are picnic tables, dogs, bikes, burgers, sunshine and loads of glorious beautiful beer. Come dressed like you're tough, but act really nice, and you'll fit right in. The barstaff are charmingly rude, and we like it that way, thank you very much. The burgers are amazing, but probably depend upon several health code violations to make them taste that good.

Few bars in SF can match the patio area of Zeitgeist. It's pretty big (particularly by SF standards) with long tables. So it's a great place for a big group. Food is better than typical bar food with great burgers. And to top it off, there's a pool table inside. I think I also remembering reading somewhere that they have rooms for rent upstairs. Parking can be a little sketchy though so don't leave anything too valuable resting on the seats in your car.

Best bar in San Francisco. If the weather is nice, get a fantastic beer, a fantastic burger, and sit outside with your friends until you can't drink no more.

I went on a Fri night but I bet the beer garden out back would be a great place to hang out at on a sunny afternoon. The beer garden is a pretty large space filled with picnic tables and there's also a grill for burgers and such. While there were many people wearing biker-type leather (supposedly it's or was a biker bar), all I saw were bicycles- lots of them! The night we were there, there was a woman selling something out of a couple of coolers she was carting around... while the smell of a uhhh certain herb lingered in the air, I'm told she was selling tamales, "damn good ones."
