Bush signs a ban on racial profiling 3

While his good intentions may be there, a ban on racial profiling doesnt stop anything. A cop will do what he damn well wants to do without recourse 99% of the time. The idea of racial profiling itself is a bunch of dung! No one has ever been able to show me proof that minorities do not committ the greatest majority of crime in urban areas. It is the same all over the country. This is just more dribble from the minorities who dont wanna see the truth. I am half hispanic and I just except that the lower income groups who are primarily minorities comitt more crime! Period.

Didn't really hear too much about this one at all, so can't really be called a major story in 2003. However, in response to StanUzbeck's comment- I find it very strange that if Clinton or a Democratic president signed such a ban, it would be hailed as a first step towards rooting out the practice. However, when Bush or any Republican signs such a ban, it is done merely for political purposes (as if a Democratic president wouldn't see the political gains from signing such a ban) and he gets no praise whatsoever from the left.

Great! So now racism will stop. Awesome! And Arab-Americans will stop being harrassed at airports and bus stations, and black men will stop being pulled over by police for arbitrary reasons. Hooray for Bush!
