after 9-11 when anything like this happens that affects a significant amount of people it affects the whole country. though this was not devasting as 9-11 it should have reminded us all at how vulnerable we can be at times.

My parent lived in Pennsylvania at the time this happened. Fortunely, it didn't effect them.

As someone who lives in the northeast, PBeavr, I can testify to the belief that this was a big deal. Thankfully I was at home but I never realized how so much of my life depended on electricity!

Considering I was stuck in NYC and got stuck sleeping at work it was a big story for me. It's surreal to see NYC shut down like that.

I was in la at the time so I dodged this one, but my mom called in a frenzy. She reads these Nostradomos books and really thought it was the end of the world.
