when i first saw Toy Story. i thought he had to be a toy from the 1950s. it was never mentioned in the first Toy Story but in the second Toy Story it did show that Woody was indeed an old toy that must have been passed down his current owner. I like Woody he was a devoted toy { if toys were actually alive} and took being a play toy seriously. good character.

woody represents the old used but very much loved toy that we all had at one time or another. he likes being the favorite toy and doesnt want to give up his position

Woody was my favorite character in Toy Story. I always felt bad for him when he was discarded in favor of Buzz Lightyear, and I thought he was an adorable toy. Tom Hanks did an excellent job doing the voice of Woody, who was an adventurous, lively, and lovable character.
