Climbing. . .but a long way to go. Affordability is a plus.

Pathetic. The Hyundai Tiburon is as close to cool as they can get; they can't get close to anything else, except maybe a early 70's American subcompact.

Junk! Junk! Junk! We stupidly purchased a 2003 Hyundai Elantra and 2003 Hyundai Sonata and these cars have had more repairs than I can count. Yes, the warranty is great but constantly running back and forth to the dealership for repairs on both of them has become very old, time consuming and inconvenient. We are going to trade both and do what we should have in the first place...BUY AMERICAN!!!!!!! Update: Traded both my Hyundai's for 2 Chryslers and the resale value for the Korean cars was pitiful, as I expected.

all throw-away cars. Let's see you get 250,000 miles out of a Kia or Hyundai without a major mechanical failure (drivetrain and suspension). And the Sportage... what a joke!

Right! Korean cars suck. They are improving, but have a long way to go before they rival Japan or Germany in innovation and quality.

Mostly crap, but they are improving slightly. Still, all of thier models have poor resale value, low reliability, and the company's themselves are ranked low in satisafaction survey's.

Slowly but surely the Korean automakers have improved since the 1980s (who can forget the first Hyundai Pony?) but there is still much to be desired in terms of image, prestige and desirability. After all, no one brags about driving a Kia or Hyundai but nevertheless, you seem to get a lot of features for the money you spend.
