09/27/2007 | Yeah, there is nothing too interesting about this game. The graphics are good for a game from 2001, but it is also too short.(1- 2 days to beat) There are only like 10 missions, each taking roughly 30mins-1hr. and it gets kind of boring just shooting aliens 100 percent of the time. Right as the game started becoming interesting, it abruptly ended, spewing end credits down my screen. I wish they could've let you use the vehicles alot more. I was thinking about buying Halo 2 this weekend, but I don't think it will be worth the money. Maybe I will rent it first.

06/12/2006 | Since when does a pistol have a scope? they made the pistol like a battlerifle in Halo 1. If you throw sticky grenades it looks like the masterchief is throwing like 100 miles per hour or somthing. Kingdom Hearts is better so get that game.

10/15/2005 | Great game, the reason I bought an xbox, and I wasnt disappointed. The flood are one of the most annoying enemies you will ever encounter on a game like this. Played for 2 days solid and beat the game on every difficulty. Im not a nerd, just shows you how good the game must have been for me to do that

02/16/2005 | The best is a sixteen Marine deathmatch that went down at my barracks once. The more drunk the Jarhead, the easier to kill he was. We were in four different rooms so you could here the anguish from down the hall when you rocked some drunken Leatherneck.

11/28/2004 | Halo 1 (for its time) was the best game!!! It had all the kick-ass stuff, and the weapons were awesome!!! The assault rifle, the pistol.....ETC., they were all AWESOME!!! I loved the different environments that there were in Halo 1, and I likes the way it was all put together. The little glitch at the end of the game with Halo exloding made me laugh too (hey, it was 2001 computer graphics, not 2004 computer graphics...a lot can change in 3 years graphic-wise). It was a really fun game, and it still is, even compared with HALO 2!!! Now, Halo 2 (in my opinion) is the only game that beats Halo 1 because they are both AWESOME!!! Halo 2 is cool (just like its father, HALO 1)

07/08/2004 | Halo was not only the best fps for Xbox but probably ever. Anyone who complains about, say, the cheapness of ceartain weapons doesn't know how to use their counters and is a huge n00b. Halo is not only a decent single player campaign, but has the most balanced multi-player scenarios ever.

01/02/2004 | It was a good game and certainly the best game out for the first two months or so, but there are far better choices. The controls were difficult to get accustomed to and some of the weapons could've been 'dulled-down' in cheapness. Single player is entertaining and multi player gets old very fast.

I enjoyed playing it all of the way through and am not here to bash it in any way, but it really isnt a patch on any number of PC games like Half-Life, Unreal, RTCW, MOHAA etc. All in all excellent for a console game but all of this talk about 'ground-breaking' and 'awesome' really does take the biscuit. You should enjoy playing it but if you are used to PC gaming then you will probably be a little disappointed, like me.

03/12/2003 | Really good but becomes a little bit of a drag when you have to start back tracking through levels. The twist midway is pretty cool but I would have rather had more out door levels and interaction with other marines than just fighting the flood by yourself. The battle scenes between the flood and the covenant are the most amazing things i've ever seen on console or pc and the vehicles are slick as hell. I think that Halo is a very good (but not great) game and I'm really looking forward to Halo 2.
