Two problems: (1) prices vary and (2) people are still going through the turnstiles. (Although I wonder if allover attendance will be down this year due to the economy.)Gutter teams like Baltimore and the (hilarious) Nationals insure some good buys on tickets are out there. . .but the PR disaster of the ticket price fiasco in the new Yankee Stadium makes this one an uneven review. Baseball tickets are still (on average) good buys compared to other major sports. . .

It is getting a bit rediculous, but I love going to games, so I will pay the price.

The market determines the price. You don't like the price watch on TV. When the market demands the prices will go down but they obviously aren't. 50 bucks for a seat to see the best players in the world play is a bargain.

This would be the biggest thing. I can remember when bleacher seats at Fenway were $4. Now they're pushing $40.

It is cheaper than every other major sport. Including NBA, NFL, NHL, NASCAR, PGA and major college sports. You may as well include hollywood films in this as well. What else do you want.

Price of Tickets is just a symptom of some of the deeper problems facing baseball - weak leadership, too much power in the hands of owners, lack of a salary cap, and of course, greed.

Going to a ball game with the kids used to be a regular thing. Now, a family cant go to a game without a wallet full of cash.
