I think this film is probably more appropriate for Halloween than for Christmas. In my opinion, the Tim Burton/Danny Elfman combo creates magic. They are both quirky, highly imaginative, and charming in that odd style of theirs. The Nightmare Before Christmas and Corpse Bride made that lasting impression on me and once in a while I watch them when I am in the mood. Other than the dark humor of Burton, the musics in these two films are of high calibur as well. Groove to the tune of Oogie Boogie Song and you almost don't feel sorry for that big red lobster man being chained to the chair. Once in a blue moon listen to that Sally's Song and lose yourself in that simple but haunting melody of hers. Listen to Jack's Lament when you get tired of working with the incompetent co-workers then you may just feel like you're up for more challenges. I think The Nightmare Before Christmas is completely under-appreciated for its artistic and psychological content that most children cannot yet understand.

an almost four. got to give Tim Burton credit for his imagination. the man has talent for sure. interesting to put two holidays together in a movie. it is probably a matter of opinion if this is a Halloween movie or a Christmas. very original for sure. has some funny moments. may be a bit scary for very little kids. not something i watch every year. my family likes this better than I do. we actually watch this at Halloween. very original concept for a movie.

This movie is a work of animated art. It's awesome to watch...for a while. However, this movie makes me tired after awhile. I've had trouble getting through it every since I watched it for the first time.

This movie revealed the amazing talents of a determined cast and crew, that worked together (for three years I might add) to create a movie that has philisophical, musical, and moral significance. Not only is it that, but it's incredibly addicting, because of its undeniable charm and characterization.

I can understand why someone wouldn't like this movie, I mean it mixes two completely different holidays and could also be offensive. But all in all this is a very good movie, for children and all. The music is great and kids love it. I also enjoyed the claymation features. Plus-I love Tim Burton. I really recomend this movie.

In my mind, Tim Burton's best film. The animation and characters in this film are fantastic, almost mind boggling. It makes you really appreciate what kind of imagination the guy has. There are some excellent songs in it too.

This is a great movie. I grew up watching this everytime before christmas or holloween. And people wonder why i am so "unique". This story is amazing, The whole love between sally and jack makes me wish i was that lucky. One of Tim Burtons best movies.

What a hideous premise for a Christmas film. Another sad sign of our times when the tendency is to celebrate Halloween joyously for the entire month of October at the same time the mere word CHRISTmas can only be mentioned euphemistically as "the holidays". Call me un-politically correct (oh, please, please do) but I just can't warm up to the combination of these two diametrically opposed celebrations.

This is the story about Jack Skellington, the pumpkinking who, after yet another successful Halloween celebration, is feeling unusually down in the dumps. As he takes a walk to gather his thoughts he stumbles onto a secret passage into Christmastown and gets a brilliant idea; he will take over Christmas! After little persuasion the inhabitants of Halloweentown are in full preperation for celebrating this new and exciting holiday. Nightmare before Christmas is a very beautiful, very welldone film that leaves you with a warm feeling all over. The storyline is a bit thin but the graphics are spectacular and the songnumbers quite amusing indeed. I can still catch myself humming "...kidnap the Santa Claus throw him in a box..."
