He's a dumbass. He doesn't understand anything that he covers.

Al Trautwig overproduced everything he does. He was horrible in the 2004 Tour de France. He ruined the Olympics for me with his melodramatic althlete profiles right in the middle of an event. Mostly the profiles consisted of how hard it was for the Athlete ... had to walk through 10 feet of snow to get to practice ... and stylized mug shots of the athlete doing absolutely nothing. Give us more sport action and less (or no AL). Keep the live feel of the sport even if it's tape delayed. Don't cut it up and add over-produced Trautwig pieces. Show the competition straight through. Do the profiles in the beginning if you must. Cutting to a profile takes away from the competition. Everytime I see Al on a broadcast I know it's going to be ruined.

Has this guy ever seen a bike race? Ever actually been ON a bike? have to check and see.... good broadcast voice, but lame when it comes to any knowledge of the sport. Is this OLN's attempt to appeal to the mainstream? or just a replacement for the equally incompetent blonde of last year?

A little goofy, but he does a great job covering the Yankees on MSG. He is a good guy to give the iside scoop on the team and players, not much of a fan when he is not covering the Yankees.
