I booked a trip to Paris through Orbitz with no problems. The price assurance guarantee is really a nice thing and makes me feel like I am not being ripped off. Orbitz offered some really great hotels at a cheap price, which is why I chose them for my package deal. All of my travel documents were e-mailed to me within minutes. I saw others complaining of cancellations and to them I would say that everyone when traveling should confirm their reservations themselves and not to solely reply on any one service. Orbitz has been very helpful.

They have the worst customer service that I have encountered. I will never use them again. They are rude and not helpful at all. If you ever have a problem with your flight, orbitz will not help you. It is better to use them as a search engine and then directly book with the airline company.

I use Orbitz to book travel for myself and for my mother several times a year, and I started using Orbitz on the recommendation of my father, who uses it several times a year. However, after my last experience, I will never use Orbitz again.I booked a trip to Las Vegas for May 27 through 30, 2009. This trip was for my best friend's wedding, and about 25 people booked their tickets to the wedding through Orbitz. When I booked my flights, I specified that I wanted flight times after noon. My original flights were the following: I was to leave Omaha at 1:15 p.m. on Wednesday, and I was to leave Las Vegas at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. These times were perfect.I received four flight updates between January and February. The first two kept the flight times at acceptable times. When I received the third and fourth update, I (wrongly) assumed that the times would be within what I initially specified — after noon. Furthermore, I figured with four flight changes in one month, there were bound to be more over the next three months. However, when I received the confirmation the day before I left Omaha, I discovered that the time I left Las Vegas on Saturday had changed to 8:10 a.m.Now, I know for a fact that there were later flights leaving Las Vegas, because I was the only person at the wedding who had this super-early time. Because of this flight time, my vacation was cut short, and I missed wedding festivities on Friday night because I had to go to bed early so I could be up at 4:30 a.m. the next day to catch the 8:10 a.m. flight. Moreover, I missed the wedding brunch with the other guests on Saturday morning because I had to be up at 4:30 a.m. to catch the 8:10 a.m. flight.Because Orbitz did not stick to the time I specified when booking this trip, I hold Orbitz accountable for screwing up my first trip to Las Vegas and time I should have had with my best friend and her groom. I missed out on festivities on Friday AND Saturday because of this, and I am not pleased. This is time I can't get back with my friends. Orbitz robbed me of a night and half a day of my vacation. While I'm voicing my displeasure, I'm going to add that I was stuck paying an extra $20 a night at the Imperial Palace in Las Vegas because Orbitz booked me in the "fabulous" MOTEL part of the Imperial Palace. Thanks, but I'd rather not be raped and robbed while traveling, and considering I was one of three people from the wedding staying at the Imperial Palace and was traveling alone, I didn't feel the motel was very safe. So I coughed up an additional $20 a night to stay in the main part of the hotel. So thank you for booking me in the lousiest part of the hotel possible so I could pay extra each night to feel safe. When I called Orbitz after my trip, they put the blame on the airline. However, I did not book my flights through the airline, I booked them through Orbitz. Furthermore, when pointed out that they completely disregarded that I'd specified flight times after noon, they continually ignored this and continued to blame the airline. Orbitz's customer service was horrible, and I'm still irked that they cut my vacation short.

Trying to book a vacation over the internet my boyfriends credit card was declined, so we tried mine, the same problem. Being a Sunday we tried calling the bank (diff. banks) and both were closed. So I waited for Monday and called the bank. Orbitz not only took money out for the trip (THAT WAS NOT CONFIRMED) but they also took enough money out for 3 trips!!!!!! My account was over drafted and I was stuck with the fees. Not only did this happen to me, but also my boyfriend. They had taken over $800 out of his account!!! After I had waited 4 HOURS on the phone and he had waited 2 hours, they would not let us talk to a manager and we kept getting transferred to diff. people--NO AMERICANS!?!?! All employees were very hard to understand and were very rude! DO NOT EVER USE THIS TRAVEL COMPANY!!!!!! We had to call the airline and try to get a refund, which was very odd because we had paid 4 times for 1 airline ticket to the same place!!! DUHH! We have no money to go on a trip and the stress alone was enough to say hell with it all!

I booked 3 airline tickets with orbitz, by their mistake not my mistake they made my wife a child and my daughter adult!!they asked me to cancel then rebook again, i did, after that i screwed up because i lost more than $1000 and the rest of the money will be back after 60 days!!i just hated this company, i have no tickets no money, bad customer service, i have been waiting 3 hours on the phone to be able to speak to a customer service even when i called for book they answer at the same moment!!be careful everybody before decide to reserve airline tickets with orbitz..I cancelled before with EGYPTAIR AND WITH NWA AND I GOT ALL OF MY MONEY BACK WITHIN A WEEK BUT WITH ORBITZ I JUST LOST $3400...MY GODNESS OF THAT WEBSITE AND THOSE PEOPLE....

Very disappointing experience: I had to change my travel dates and I had to call their customer service from overseas. I gave up the first time after 25 minutes, the second time after 30 minutes and tried it a third time and finally could speak to someone after approx. 25 minutes. The customer service agent did put me on hold for another 20 minutes in order to solve out my problem (changing a flight date) and said that in the end she received an error in the system and that she will me transfer now to Northwest Airlines. After transfering there was no agent on the NWA side to handle this problem and they hung up automatically. Unbelievable. Called KLM, their partner airline in Amsterdam, explained them my experience and I got on a desired flight just within minutes. Will never use Orbitz again.

Due to the extreme weather condition, our flight got cancelled. The customer representatives in Orbitz were extremely helpful. They helped us to call the airline and the hotel, and also to get a full refund. They were very patient on the phone. I have read and heard a lot of bad comments about their representatives. However, based on our experience, we are 100% satisfied with Orbitz. We definetely will travel in the future. Orbitz is going to be our top travel website which we will use again and again. Thanks Orbitz and its representatives (esp Rhonda and Eve in Philippines?). That's how every travel agency should do business. So satisfying customers will always go back to you.

The return/cancelation policy is a rip off. Don't buy the $23 flight insurance. I was told (after the fact) that it woudl take a catastrophic illness or an earthquake to have it honored. It isn't even from Orbitz, it's through an outside company. RIP OFF!

I recently used Orbitz to book 2 essentially identical trips from my home in Colorado to Vancouver, CAN. On the first occasion I then promptly received an email from some insurance company called AccessAmerica informing me of the details of my new insurance coverage WHICH I DID NOT RECALL ORDERING! So I called AccessAmerica and cancelled the coverage. The second time this same thing occurred I realized that for certain that I had not selected insurance coverage, but I received it again regardless. Upon calling customer service and asking to speak with a supervisor, I was told that the Orbitz website selects the insurance coverage for me and that Orbitz's position is that it is my responsibility to unselect the insurance option. Needless to say I will never again use Orbitz as my travel services provider due to this fraudulent and misleading marketing tactic.

I'll NEVER USE ORBITZ again! I booked through Orbitz to save $300 on airfare (only about 15% discount from booking directly with airline). What a mistake! Orbitz does not allow you to pick your seats/change seats real time like we could have if we booked through airline directly(on a 8 hour flight you want a good seat). My traveling companion needed to cancel but Orbitz would not allow my companion to cancel without canceling me too. Had I known this upfront I would have booked us separately. Orbitz and their Travel Insurance company said we had to both cancel and then I would have to rebook and it was 2 days before the trip (prices were considerably higher by then). We bought their travel insurance which was no help either. We tried talking directly with the airline and they said we had to go through Orbitz because we booked through them. Orbitz told us to call the airline. So we are stuck! For all the grief and time Orbitz has caused us and the cost of their useless travel insurance, it wasn't worth the $300 savings. Next time I'll book directly with the airline or go through another more reputable company. I really wish I had seen all these negative reviews before I booked!

The worst online service. I have been a customer for 6 years. Yesterday, when I went to Bloomington airport (BMI) with my e-ticket, United Express airline said that my ticket was canceled since Orbitz did not pay them (I was charged $310 over 2 weeks ago BMI-LAS). I had to attend a conference, already registered and paid $565 for the conference (July 13-17). I called Orbitz, they said the flight was canceled by United Express. However, the plane flew on schedule at 11:20am while Orbitz denied my request to honor the ticket. UE asked me to pay last minute ticket for $1000 and Orbitz was saying that is the only way! Orbitz sucks. I will never buy a ticket from them. No compensation just refunded my $310 as they said in the next billing cycle like nothing has happened. I drove 160 miles round-trip from Springfield to Bloomington to find pout that I do not have a ticket and lost my conference and hotel charges.
HorrifiedHoney mooner 06/02/2008
Orbitz charged us $5,700.00 for our Honeymoon Package. This total included a $1,900 charge for re-scheduling to June of this year and rather than OFFICIALLY change the reservation they charged us better never communicated the changes to the airline or resort. Thanks to Orbitz we have no Honeymoon and have lost every penny we received as gifts from our guests. At this point, Orbitz is very unwilling to accept responsibility for what is clearly their mistake and are only offering us $800 which doesn't begin to cover the difference in air fare at this late date. We were supposed to have been leaving the 11th of June and we just found out 2 days ago--talk about getting screwed. Be logical: do not attempt to beat the odds with this company...please boycott them and save yourself a lot of money and hassle!!!

Should we ever use ORBITZ Travel Service againmay the flees of a thousand Camels settle in my crouch!!! To say Orbitz S*#ks would be an understatement! Rest assured should you ever need there help after booking with them FORGET-IT !!!! They dont even want to know WHO-YOU-ARE. Orbitz booked us in La Royal Hotel, Metz, France, without ever contacting them (the hotel) regarding rooms or services. Had this hotel been within the US. boarders they would be CLOSED!! Exposed plumbing, electrical wires hanging everywhere from nails in the ceiling. Expsoed insulation in the room. No shower curtain. OH!, but they did have soap. The hotel advertised a continantial breakfast at 22 Euros Per Person..Hell were lucky we got hot water for Tea, and ORBITZ after we contacted them for the second time by cell phone at $1.29 min, and put on hold for over 11 minutes each time replied, well what would like us to do? SO regarding using the service of Orbitz.THINK TWICE B-4 USE!

They have the crappiest customer service & I wouldn't mind paying $2000 over my $1500 international flight ticket to go straight through the airline next time!!!!! NEVER USE ORBITZ! They will take your money & charge your credit card, issue you paper tickets for your flight that aren't even valid, & cause you headaches before your trip and enough anxiety to make you not want to go anymore!!!!! NEVER NEVER NEVER USE ORBITZ!

This is the worst company to EVER book throughI checked into a room, was charged more than the advertised priceThe first night I check in I was woke early in the morning by one trying to break into my roomI was moved two different times, both rooms filled with cockroaches. I called 4 different times, to be told by Orbitz they couldnt do anything about it, that Id have to take it up with the hotel. This company has the worst customer service.
rameshvidavalu r 12/04/2007
The service sucks. Customer service representatives are very hard to understand. I am not sure how do they expect to provide a service if one does not have basic communication skills. I booked a hotel room last month and I was charged twice (one by the hotel and one by orbitz). When I called, after an hour, the lady could not speak any english and gave a fax no to fax the credit card statement and then there was no response for next three weeks. Then I have to call the hotel which charged less than what Orbitz charged for the room for the refund. I am still waiting for the refund

ORBITZ DOESN"T MAKE HOTEL RESERVATIONS WHEN YOU DO!!! I've had this happen twice, both over thanksgiving holiday. After the first time I believed it was an honest mistake, but after this past thanksgiving I now know it's how they operate. Last year I reserved a room out of town. I made the reso through Orbitz several weeks in advance. But, upon arrival, there was no reservation! the hotel was booked and I wasn't one of the bookies. the hotel had to go out of their way to find me another hotel. Then, this year I got sick a the day before my trip. I called the hotel directly to cancel the first night and discovered, once again (different hotel), that there was no reservation. this after i had made the reso 3 weeks prior. i called Orbitz and asked to have a day cancelled, since they had not made the reservation, then, while i was on hold, the lady called the hotel, made the reso, got back on the line and told me the HOTEL WOULDN"T CANCEL!!! the nerve of these schmucks. so i filed a complaint with BBB and want to locate someone to investigate this sham. maybe Dateline? anyone?
Lisa07 12/01/2007
WARNING!!! BE EXTREMELY CAREFUL !!!!! There is a travel insurance by Access America that you buy automatically unless you uncheck a box when you book a flight. This is not legal, but since they bill your credit card it's up to you to make them reverse the policy and the charge. I consider companies who engage in illegal and unethical conduct no better than crooks. (This site asked me to give them a star or wouldn't accept this. They don't deserve it!! The deepest hole you can find would be more like my onpinion)

I liked Orbit fine, however, if you see a promotional offer to save "--%" off your booking - do NOT put in a zipcode or e-mail address or anything - they will automatically charge your credit card after the "free trial period"! I don't understand how Trilegiant Corp., and it's alliances like "Great Fun", can obtain a credit card number from the Orbitz site, apparently they are "partners". Either way, beware! Book your flight/hotel/etc, and do not get caught up in a promotional discount offer.

My receipt from Orbitz for a hotel reservation contained arithmetic errors and I was mistakenly charged $40 too much. After an hour on the phone with somebody in India trying to explain the 2nd grade-level arithmetic error, Orbitz still refused to acknowledge that there was an error and would not correct the bill. There are plenty of travel sites out there - no need to use Orbitz!

BEWARE RENTAL CAR USERS! I booked a rental car through Orbitz for a "great rate" of $248 for 12 days. When we got to the airport, it turns out that there was an additional driver fee of $10 PER DAY, making the total for the rental $383 for the period. I wrote to them to complain about the lack of disclosure of the other fee at time of reservation, and their response was that their quote is for a base rate plus taxes, with additional fees due at time of rental. Duh! I have never encountered such a fee in my 15+ years of renting a car - GPS, child car seat, charges for additional day, insurance or returning not full of gas, certainly - but charge for additional driver (who meets all age requirements, etc)., I will certainly never do it through Orbitz again and at this point would love to just see them go out of business. I won't yet mention the rental car company, since I've recently contacted their customer service department and am currently attempting to work through this problem with them, but that post may be coming soon . . .

Orbitz Low Price Guarantee is a deceptive and false. In order to match the proce you have to send them a link to the competitors website within 24 hours, but they do not check the price until 7 to 10 days afterwards. In that time most travel prices will increase.

ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE!!!!!!! NEVER USE THIS COMPANY. THEY OUTSOURCE THIER CUSTOMER SERVICE TO A COUNTRY NEXT TO MADAGASCAR AND NO ONE UNDERSTANDS WHAT YOU ARE TRYING TO TELL THEM AND THERE IS NO ONE ELSE TO SPEAK TO ABOUT IT. I SPOKE WITH 5 PEOPLE REGARDING THEM REFUNDING ME FOR A HOTEL NIGHT BECAUSE OF A CANCELLED FLIGHT AND EACH ONE PROMISED ME IT WOULD BE REFUNDED. NOW THEY HAVE NO RECORD OF THE CONVERSATIONS. HOW CONVENIENT FOR THIS CROOKED COMPANY. THAT IS ONLY THE BEGINNING OF THE STORY. NEVER USE ORBITZ!!!!! I HOPE THIS COMPANY GOES UNDER AND EVERYONE THAT WORKS THERE WITH IT!!!!!

This is the worse company I have ever dealt with. The booked my flight but when it came time to take it the sent me a completely chagend iterary the day before the trip. It completely made it impossible to attend the meeting the trip intended on having me go to and catch my flight to return home. I discussed this with a supervisor and he told me that he would fix it at no charge. Then three weeks later orbitz charged my credit card 120.00 in four 30.00 increments. I have been told no for three weeks that I would be getting a refund and it will only take, 2, 5, 7, well it has been over three weeks. Each week that I call no one has any idea about the previous time that I had called or that I was even billed after I itially got my ticket. How can you charge someone 120.00 for nothing and to top it off have no record of it?
adkeeter 05/30/2007
TERRIBLE!!!! In every way!! Customer service - Reliablity - Overall honesty I ended up being double-billed and billed $30.00 less from the hotel. This was their "Low Price Guarantee" Absolutely the most ridiculous situation I have ever dealt with!!! Total runaround from Customer Service!! Don't use them!!! Book through hotel!!! Much cheaper and easier to deal with. Does NOT deserve any stars!!!!!

Booked a leisure Mexico trip with them. Their hotel rankings are way off. We visited other hotels in addition to the ones we were staying, and if orbits says 4 stars, I 'll reccomend you at least cut that in half. It happened we got a sub-standard hotel. Well, it was manageable but very dissapointing. Interesting enough, after filling-up Orbitz survey after our trip, and pointing out how bad the hotel was... guess what Orbitz never publishes the review. Learned the hard way that Orbitz reviews are vey biased and totally manipulated.

NEVER use Orbitz. I booked a 2 night hotel stay through them for Spring Break 2007. When we arrived at the hotel, it was in the middle of boarded up buildings, the hotel was filthy, the curtains were hanging off the windows and were discolored, and there were pieces of junk all over their parking lot. I was afraid to get out of the car. I immediately called the hotel to cancel my reservation. I was told I needed to contact Orbitz directly. Since I had no computer, I had to pay to use one. When I returned home, I followed up with Orbitz by phone. I was talking to people from India who were very difficult to understand and they were very uncooperative. After a week of not hearing back from them, I called again. I had to go through the exact same process as the first time I called. They need to call the hotel and ask if they'll refund the money. Then I'm told that because I didn't enter the hotel I didn't deserve the refund. Then I was told because I didn't cancel with the hotel, they wouldn't refund my money. And of course the manager can never be found and he's the one who has to authorize the refund. Hello? I called the hotel first and was told I had to contact Ortitz directly. DO NOT USE this service ever. I learned the hard way. I'm out $200.00. I asked them if they reviewed the hotels before using them, and I was told yes. When I went online to look at the hotel, I laughed. It wasn't even pictures of the right hotel! False advertising. Spread the word. Don't use Ortitz.

Orbitz is easily the most imcompetent company I have ever dealt with. I bought what I thought was a refundable fare. After twice varifying that I was eligable for a full refund minus a small processing fee if I canceled, I booked another flight and canceled the first. Orbitz then refused to refund either. They admitted their records showed that I was misinformed, so they agreed to give me half. Then they called back and said they could give me nothing. Then they promised a full refund again. Then they issued a refund of aproximately 10% of the value of the ticket and gave me a voucher for another 10% of the value of the ticket. When I went to cash in the voucher, they refused to honor it. During this process, I never raised my voice, but I was hung up on several times. If I were not overseas, I would have taken them to small claims court. I have never dealt with an American company so obstinant as to admit you are right and then call you back to inform you they will do nothing for you. I expect that in the Eastern Europe, but I don't expect that in the States.

1 star is 1 too many for Orbitz. We booked tickets from JFK to Buenos Aires in May of 2006 to fly in Dec. 2006. When we arrived at JFK, we found that the airline we had tickets for (Varig, a Brazilian airline) no longer flew from JFK and had not for several months--the flight did not exist. We were never informed of this by e-mail, letter or phone call. Orbitz customer service took over an hour to reach on the phone and were rude and unsympathetic when we finally got them. They said that since they had refunded our tickets (to a credit card that we rarely use, which is why we didn't notice), they had fulfilled their end of the deal. They told us it was our problem, basically, though we had never received a single notification other than the refunded price of the tickets on our credit card statement a few months before (too late, by the way, to purchase tickets again at a comparable price even if we had noticed--tickets to South America are expensive, which is why we purchased them in May). We were forced to purchase same-day tickets at the airport for almost three times the cost of the original tickets. Orbitz is not interested in customer service and ultimately not worth the few dollars you save by using their website. Never again.
rowar 01/24/2007
HORRIBLE. I would not even give them the 1 one star but rating is required. Booked international flight only with them. Several legs. First one got cancelled by airline and it rolled downhill from there. Called Orbitz to find out what could be done. The answer? It's our policy that once the airline cancels it's out of our hands and you need to go through them. The airlines answer? Sorry, you booked through travel agency and received paper tickets, we can't change paper tickets. Spent several hours on the phone, finally begging for sympathy from US Airways (of all places) and they relented and helped me. Never, Never, NEVER again with Orbitz.
shruti 01/22/2007
WORST EVER! Its the worst place to buy your tickets from. I booked a hotel through their website for our anniversary and when very few days were left for our trip, they sent us a cancellation notice. When we called them, they just said sorry, dint even offer any other hotel or a compensation. Simply ruined our trip. They simply DONT CARE FOR THEIR CUSTOMERS.
gvallee 01/17/2007
Orbitz is good place if you just want to buy a ticket online and if you do not have any issues. But the time you try to call them, problems start: employees are not polite, they periodically hang up on you, interrupt you all the time, and transfer you to one person to the other about 5 times before to try to help you. So my advice: find a good deal on Orbitz and then, go to the airline company website and book the ticket! Maybe you will pay a little bit more (usually between $10-$30) but in case of problems this is definitively a better solution.
neverOrbitz 01/17/2007

For the past 6 months, my husband and I have had numerous problems with them although we have separate accounts and have never dealt with them together on 1 particular case. They give the customers the runaround so they don't have to assist them. They provide bad information to consumers, but do not hold themselves accountible for it. i was hung up on numerous times, on hold "forever", and wasted over 10 hours of time dealing with them. they caused me to lose over 1400 of credit with Alitalia. I have emailed the executives and filed BBB complaints. This company is unethical in my opinion.

Beware - I booked a flight and rental car through orbitz. I was offered limo service on the website, I clicked on it for more information. Then orbitz charged my credit card. I canceled the service with the limo company and contacted my credit card company, they still charged me for a service I did not use. Customer service at orbitz stinks!
mobilebuzz 11/26/2006
I have been a user of Orbitz since it first came out and I have never had any problems with it. I really like their user interface. And I really like how they made it really easy for me to sign up just as a regular individual traveler, as well as an employee of one of their enterprise accounts. Their customer service could use some improvements, like having more agents, for example. I also think it's lame to lead you into thinking you're going to get one rate, and as soon as they know you're interested in booking the trip, the fares magically increase... But I guess this is a problem with all online travel sites in general.
NegOrbitz 11/10/2006
No stars for these guys. How they can claim to have any customer service let alone one called TLC I will never know. The airline we originaly booked with (Alitalia) changed a flight and told us we'd have to work with Orbitz to change to a new one. What a struggle! It took us weeks and many phone calls. We talked to customer service agents in Kentucky, Manila, and Mauritius umong other plces. We were repeatedly told the rebooking was accomplished and our new tickets would be arriving by mail. Total lies! We finally got hold of a number in Mankato, Mn which is apparently a headquarters or staff facility. By being totally obnoxious and calling back every few minutes we finally got them off the dime. Wanted to get rid of the pain I suppose. After starting this process six weeks before departure we finally got our tickets a few days before we left. I was fully prepared to go there and sort it out personally with them. What a poorly managed outfit Orbitz is. Use them at your own-considerable-risk and hope that nothing changes after making the initial booking.

Do I have to give one star? I think that Orbitz may get it right if nothing changes (hotel overbooking, flight overbooking etc.) but when life happens orbitz has a massive stroke. I have a reservation through Orbitz that I had to cancel due to attention needed elsewhere. The hotel was going to charge for one night, not happy but undetstandable. But orbitz was going to charge for the whole stay...and had already hit my credit card for two nights worth before stepping foot in the door of the hotel. (charges showed up Thursday for Friday and Saturday nights)After call customer service Twice, being hung up both times (switching to the "right person to talk with")Finally a person gets on the line, speaks with a supervisor and says they were charging me the whole stay. You have got to be kidding--One night I can understand, the whole stay? Well, I called my credit card company and reported the card stolen. Extreme, perhaps-but I be damned if someone was getting 700.00 of my money when services was not given!!

Use their website only to research your hotel - Then call the hotel directly. You will save tons of money. Due to a hotel error I was given a receipt with the actual room charge ($428) and Orbitz charged me $545. When I called customer service, obviously I was not supposed to have this information as my questions were responded to with 'Err' 'Uhm' and the best - Total Silence. Then the lies of 'No one else can help you or knows the answer to your question'. I will never use them again.

I don't want to give them even one star. I found their advertizing to be false. When I tried to make adjustments to my plans, because of thier false advertizment they charged me $25. 10-2-06

139 minutes later... Booked monthes prior to our trip, got a notice from Orbitz that the itinerary had changed, contacted Orbitz by phone to arrange for an acceptable itinerary. In order to make the changes, I was informed rather rudely ("As I said earlier...." opening many statements by the Orbitz representative throughout my 139 minute telephone re-schedule/ordeal), that I'd need to start from scratch, and between the increase in fare and penalties I'd need to pay 190. per ticket more than my original pricing. I cancelled 3 of us and agreed to the new "deal" for one. (Got a partial credit for three tickets, less penalties and fees, to use within the next year with the airline we originally booked with.) While making those arrangements I told the representative I'd need to book a car as well. She connected me with the car rental agent and I made the arrangements. At that point I was told that the discount for booking the flight and car did not apply unless I wanted to start over yet again, and book a flight and car together. Wasn't that what I just did? Not according to Orbitz. Unless one is completely savvy to navigate the ins and outs of Orbitz's rules, even when they don't keep up their end of the bargain (the original plans were changed by them, which got this whole mess started), I would highly recommend using another service, any other service. Heck, call the airlines and car rental companies direct!

Awful experience with Orbitz!! I write this in hopes that someone will learn from my mistake. I felt safe (foolish error!) booking through Orbitz because of their 'low fare guarantee'. Within hours of booking my trip, I found a lower price on Travelocity; Orbtiz refused to honor their guarantee, and I found customer service to be less than responsive in addressing my issue. After several phone calls and emails, I finally gave up,but a month before my trip I realized the price for the EXACT trip I'd purchased was now more than $200 cheaper on Orbitz site!! Still they wouldn't refund me my money. I was rudely informed I could cancel my trip and re-purchase at the lower rate, but after all the penalties I would be assessed, I still would end up paying 1.5x the cost of the trip. We book several trips each year and have had good experience with Travelocity and Expedia..needless to say, we will NEVER use Orbitz again.

Awful Customer Service. I would not recommed to book airfare through orbitz they do not back there product nor stand by there commitment to the consumer. What our problem was with orbitz was when we booked the flight 2 weeks went by and the price dropped $200 per ticket and they would not refund us the difference the only way we would get the difference is if we paid $100 more per ticket to cancell. Customer service had my family on hold for 45 minutes and then hung up. I would recommend you go through the airline itself because they are more cooporitiave and they ended up refunding the $200 per tickets and they said "that they had a number of complaints about orbitz"

I don't even want to give them one star. The first time Orbitz messed up for me was in Mexico, when we discovered that Orbitz had sent us to a non-existent car rental agency, We ended up without a car and many dollars worth of taxi bills. The second time Orbitz messed up was when we arrived at a hotel only to find that Orbitz still hadn't confirmed our reservation with them! We ended up waiting for an hour and a half before just booking a room with that hotel. The third time, this time, Orbitz cancelled my hotel reservation without my permission. Then, they charged me for the entire stay! Wow, Orbitz sucks. I have used every site online and I have to say, Orbitz is the worst. Customer service is offl Orbitz doesn't even know what's going on; no proper contact with the hotels they manage. I will be sure to tell everyone I know and every review site I can find to avoid Orbitz unless they want to spend an hour of their time trying to rectify a mistake that Orbitz made.
