A huge rebellion that united the slaves of a country forcibly driven by slaves. What a heroic death too.

They ravaged southern Italy for almost two years before they were finally cornered and wiped out. 6000 of the captured slaves were crucified along the Appian way (immortalized first by Stanley Kubrick, and then by Monty Python)
