He is a great skater, technically solid. However, I have often compared him with Evgeni Plushenko and Alexei has never been my favorite when the two are both considered. Alexei is solid indeed, but he lacks the variety in his performance that Evgeni often provides. He is fluid in his skating but lacking the edge. Evgeni in comparison is more artistically pleasing but technically slightly shakier. To me, the artistry should weigh more than technicality when it comes to figure skating. The constant rivalry between these two athelets have also made me consider him as a lesser. His constant jealousy for a good formance put up by Evgeni and the glares he gave on those skating competitions were vicious. A good athelet should possess good sportsmanship and I think he also lacks that.

I think Alexei is the greatest skater in the world. I miss him so much now that he has retired from competition. He is so passionate, and has such presence on ice. I haven't watch figure skating since he left because the current skaters can never achieve his brilliance and also it saddens me that he is not at the Worlds, the Grand Prix, Skate Canada, Euros and the Olympics anymore. He is the definition of the perfect skater and NO ONE will ever be as wonderful as he was and is.

Alexei has certainly joined the elite club of best skaters ever. He has it all: Olympic gold medal and 4 World titles, the recognition, the presence, the ability to captivate the audience, the irresistible charm and intriguing personality. He is a magnificent skater with true universal appeal.

Alexei is one of the greatest skaters of all time. He has the medals to prove it. I hope that he recovers from his injury and returns to the ice soon!

Alexei is the best...Plushenko is good but it misses something. Goebel doesn't have the artistic, it doesn't even deserve an Olympic medal. Buttle is better than him... If you think that Alexei is ''Beurk!!!'', you don't know anything with skating. It's my opinion and for me, Alexei is the best skater in the world!

Positive vibe? More like biased vibe for Michelle and Tim. They are the two most overrated Figure Skaters in the world. And, you know what they don't have? That's right, an OLYMPIC GOLD MEDAL. And neither one of them will ever get it because they suck. Number 1- his name is Evgeni Plushenko and Plushenko hates Alexei, Alexei just doesn't care anymore. Alexei goes out of his way to not comment about Plushenko, get over yourself. What can an untalented loser like Plushenko influence one to do besides laugh? I became a fan of Alexei at the '98 Oly's and have been a fan ever since. There will never be anyone like him. He has the highest jumps, and the greatest passion in everything!

Alexi had to deal with his bad father, media, and Pluschenko the jumping bean. I am glad that he won the gold medal.

This guy is a great skater. Sometimes I think that his hatred of Yvegeny Pluschenko is what keeps him going. I'm sure that's not the only thing that motivates him, but I think it's a factor.

Alexei Yagudin is a great skater, but he doesn't have that positive vibe that Michelle Kwan and Timothy Goebel have.

I became a fan after I saw his Lawrence of Arabia program. It was a beautiful program. Alexi knows how to combine artistry and athleticism on the ice. I hope he keeps his promise of not turning Pro.
