Like every artist out there, Shakira has pluses and minuses. She is a foreigner who made it into American market, not easy. I also like that she stays true to her latin sound and uses it whenever she can. Saying that, I don't find her voice pleasing, nit even a little bit, something about her voice bothering me. Other than that she is quite a belly-dancer - looks really good.

Overly Latin. Her voice is ok in Spanish but I cringe hearing her in English. What is she saying? It's hard to tell. The songs in Spanish are OK, but in English...Look, just get her Latin language albums and skip the English ones. You'll be glad you did.

I love this album. This is one of those rare CD's that I can listen to every song on the disc... english or spanish. And I don't even understand spanish. I also like the orignality of the songs and admire Shakira for writing her own lyrics. She has a great sense of musical talent and I can't wait for her next release!
