Mickey Mantle (Baseball) 1

I put the Mick on here not because of his wenching and drinking and carrying on during his playing days but because of his post-career ban from baseball for several years.

It is largely forgotten now, but Bowie Kuhn ruled Mantle persona non grata for working as a Casino greeter in Atlantic City. Due to what Kuhn termed an unsavoury connection, Mantle and Willie Mays (who held a similar position in a different casino) were barred from working in baseball or appearing on its behalf for about five years.

Personally, I feel that Kuhn was over the top entirely here, and reacting like the village idiot he clearly was.
