Apparently he's getting his life back in order, so I won't give him a 5.

This may be a bit strict but I think he should be banned from boxing for a long time. He was a professional and should know a lot better. We don't need that kind of rubbish in any sport. If he does it once, he may do it again. Just because someone is a good fighter, it doesn't make it right what he did.

I don't think he dishonored boxing so much as he simply disgraced himself.

Mike Tyson is absolutely a dishonor to the sport of boxing. I know what most people think about boxing and boxers in general. Perhaps the promoters, and bad managers have given given boxing the proverbial black eye. But for my money, and with few exceptions, boxers are the salt of the Earth. They are approachable, work with kids and rarely take advantadge of a situation. When you think of people that dishonor their sport, and life in general, think Kobe, OJ Simpson, Barry Bonds, Pete Rose. There are plenty enough of these guys to go around in ALL sports. I have met so many boxers through the years from Muhammed Ali and Sugar Ray Robinson to Oscar De La Hoya and Sugar Shane Mosely and I can tell you honestly, for the most part, they are just ordinary Joes, with the toughest job in sports. If it sounds like I take it personal, I do. LOL

First with the criminal convictions/allegations/etc. Then to get knocked out by a nobody. Hang up those gloves, Mike.

Dishonorable in a sport not exactly known for its high standards of honor, he also affected a taste for unusual cuts of meat. Fine boxer though.

I'm giving him four stars instead of five because it's pretty hard to dshonor boxing. Tyson gave it a hell of a shot though. My concerns with this terrifying man are his behaviour in the ring, not in hotel rooms. The one is his personal life and he has been deservedly convicted and punished for it. The ring behaviour is what disgraces boxing. I don't know who's worse, Tyson, his handlers, or the boxing establishment for allowing him to pull on gloves any more. At his best he could beat a mudhole in an opponent though, couldn't he?
