A truly flawed man, that seems to have started to get his life together now that he's no longer playing. An alcoholic, drug using, violent and irresponsible man, he went through hockey with the look of one of those sleep-walking killers that Robert Mitchum played to perfection in '40s noir movies. Fearsome and fearless on the ice, and a train-wreck off it.

Now this man is an alcoholic! My brother saw him drinking at a bar once, and said he never saw anything quite like it. He left the bar early in fear that Probert would start something. Alcohol problems, substance abuse, a disgrace to hockey now, yes, but still, he was entertaining to watch when he played. Him and Tie, him and that classic bout with Marty. He even had 60 points one year with the Wings. 3300 mins and almost 400 career points, that is one hell of a career, with or without the constant run-ins with the law.
