Shore was hockey's answer to Ty Cobb, playing a what was regarded as a violent intimidating style in an era that was far more brutal than today's game. Like Cobb, Shore may have been at least borderline psychotic, and his behaviour was erratic to say the least. After he nearly killed Ace Bailey with an illegal hit in a game, there was widespread outcries for his expulsion from the sport. As far as I'm concerned he was just a more extreme example of what hockey in the day accepted as normal.

'The Edmonton Express'. Classic hockey era, and if anyone doesn't know what I am talking about, learn about him and Billy Coutu's confrontation at a Montreal Canadians' practice, while they were on the same team!!! Coutu headbutted shore and ripped his ear off, and I think he even through him on the ice, the way I have heard it desribed was like a 'bodyslam'. Maybe I am just ignorant here, but what did Shore do to disgrace his sport? He is a Hall of Fame inductee, and an All-Star. What was wrong with him? Was it is involvement in the AHL? Was it just is style of hockey?
