I like Shakira, I do. She has the hips that can shake the world and girl also knows how to work it effortlessly. She is also very spicy looking and has a few of good tunes. There's only one problem - her voice, it has some sort of vibe to it that is so irritating.

Every now and then a song comes along that irritates the feck out of me so much that it turns me into a deranged loon. Hips Dont Lie is one such song. The tuneless horrible vocal, the 'Shakira, Shakira' bit, the trumpet, the inane lyric of "I never really knew that she could dance like this,She makes a man want to speak Spanish Como se llama, bonita, mi casa, su casa" Total cr@p. Hence the 1 star.

She dont have a big butt, but shes a cutie pie, but i'm not feeling her music. Her voice bothers me, but at least she's cute. Thats all ya need sometimes to make it.

I enjoy keeping up on Shakira- I tried to watch her live performance from Live Earth- but honestly people she is one of the worst singers and I love making fun of her. I can sound just like her- especially in Don't Bother. She has a ridiculous voice-- often sounding like a strangled goat. She makes a lot of different noises while singing- but none of them are pleasant to my ear. Even "No" gets on my nerves after a while. She sang better in her early years before she started doing that awful Alanis knock-off warble. Really to me her music and dancing are a joke-I hope she continues with her humanitarian work- if she was not so addicted to fame maybe she could help the children full time!

Latin, ha, whatever, she's Syrian/Lebanese, whatever, just like Salma Hayek. Nevermind, they never cease to use their supposed heritage as their trump card. I think Shakira has no talent whatsoever, which unfortunately, seems to be a trend in the music business.

I feel that Shakira is getting worse everytime she comes out with a new album! At first I did like her a lot when she sang in spanish, because her lyrics of her songs were beautiful. Come on everyone knows for a fact that she is not a singer, she sounds like she is making halloween sounds for a hunted house. When she first started in spanish she didn't dance or move at all, but know she is getting to that line where someone needs to tell her to calm down because is not even dancing. She is sharing her intimate moves and crazy ideas that she beliefs in from her far away heritage. I'm Colombian and is a shame that guys are only interesting in her butt and horny moves. I honestly don't know why she's being consider one of the new latin talents out there, WRONG!!!

I like Shakira no matter what she does....English, Spanish.....blonde, brunette. She entertains me and that is all that matters.

I kinda liked her better when had dark hair and sang in Spanish. Granted her voice was never really my cup of tea because at times it reminded me of somebody gurgling or a baby goat. There were times when she got it right and sang beautiful pieces. But now that she's a blonde, she's totally gone downhill. Her voice in English even harder to listen to than in Spanish. She looks like a frizzy poodle now that she's a blonde. Shakira looks like she raided the Goodwill and found old (not vintage) stuff from the 70's. I can understand that she doesn't want to be glam and respect that, but she looks very corriente. Her belly dancing is awful. Her contortions look painful. My mom says she looks like a snake about to give birth. Maybe she's molting, he, he. Perhaps it is part of her eccentricities as an 'artist'. For Americans who aren't use to Middle Eastern and Hispanic culture, they think she is it because they don't know any better. Her lack of mastery in the English language is evident when you listen to her songs in Laundry Service. If you can't do something 100% right, then don't do it at all. Don't use the audience as a guinea pig to test your new skills. We are worth so much more than that.

I like Shakira, she is definitely an entertainer, very outgoing personality, she's really not afraid to be herself. I don't think she can sing but she can really shake her booty,lol, the girl can get down. Like I said she can perform but she is not a singer. She is pretty, though. Oh Shakira, ya gotta love her.

She actually is NOT a one -hit wonder. She has been around for many years in the Latin Market. As a singer myself I can say I think she does have talent..You may not like her particular style but her vocals are unique and unusual. So many of these singers sound exactly the same..she does not . I also like the fact she actually writes her own music and can be a somewhat humorous and creative in her lyrics..

Allright people. I myself am a Lebanese/Latin woman, and I do not find in any interest in Shakira. She is a disgrace to the lebanese and spanish community. Before she did the cross over she was COMPLETLY DIFFERENT, she was so innocent purse and her voice was lovely. Now that she did a cross over she cannot sing in english and be honet you guys know when u hear her live that her accent is too heavy. For example on her video objection tango they actually have to use subtitles for you to understand her. I have nothing against her it's just that she's not the same respectable girl that I used to listen too. She is The queen of pop in all of Latin America, Look at the globe, find Latin America, you will see its huge, just like her. It wasn't Ricky Martin that started the cross over craze; it was my BELOVED SELENA, who was tragically MURDERED. I hate the fact that people compare Shakira to Britney, Shakira sings and is not afraid to sing, it might not be your typical singing, but its her that is who she is, she has sang that way since she started out. She has an amazing voice and amazing talent. She sure can sing her songs (and they're all her own songs!) with such power and spirit. It's too bad she didn't do her album in english earlier, like the same year as Britney did her debut CD. Then maybe Shakira would have been Queen of Pop instead. I can almost swear that she would've been. She has amazing looks aswell and I, apart from some other raters, think she looks just as good in blonde hair as in red or black. I just love it when artists experiment with their personalities and style. Her CD is really great with simple, yet honest and beautiful lyrics. The future in blonde pop belongs to Shakira.

I think Shakira is awesome! A lot of the other latin pop artists out there don't embrace their roots like she does. Her bellydancing skills are pretty good, and she has a great voice. There is no doubt that Shakira is a very attractive woman and a very good belly dancer, but as far as singing goes I can not say that she is a good singer. It sounds like she is trying to sing with her tounge in her cheek to me. Perhaps I am being to harsh.

I don't get intrigued by many pop singers. In fact i often find it hard for me to admit that i like any of them.Shakira has caught my eye, though. I'm going to get her new CD, and hope she can change my mind. I'd also like to add that there is nothing wrong with music artists trying new things. Variety is one of the things that makes life great. So if she feels like "crossing over" or whatever, more power to her. Thats her choice.
