Irishgit: I think his aides and cronies ARE tearing their hair out every time he opens his mouth.Yes-his speeches are scripted, but he's practically illiterate and arrogant enough to try and wing it on occasion. The frightening thing is, people actually believe this man graduated from an Ivy League College WITHOUT cheating or using his poppas influence to grease the skids!!!

How I long for the days when basic literacy was a prerequisite for the presidency. . .you apologists just have to face the fact that your Lord-of-Texas is a retard of the highest order. . .

This shows just how seriously our president takes his position. A good politician would not make these mistakes ever. And irishgit, most of these bushisms come from television talk shows where George W. Bush is unscripted, or during press conferences.

I don't intend to live 4,000 years, but I will serve it as long as I live.

I'll do my best, but ya know with McDonald's and air pollution, I'm not too sure I'll last that long.

What is bizarre about this list and the man who mouthed the words, is the fact that politicians at this level are heavily scripted. Virtually every public word they speak is written and analyzed well in advance of utterance. That's not to say that politicians never speak off the cuff (and usually regret it) but that they are trained and coached to use careful and considered language. That there are so many Bushisms says something particularly odd about his aides, handlers, speech writers, and staff. Are they incompetent, out to embarrass the boss, or tearing their hair out and chewing their fingernails down to the second knuckle everytime he opens his mouth?

I'm glad that the president seems so confident that we'll all have impressive life spans . . . .
