Technically, this is quite true. Books for all ages do sometimes have fantastic pictures. The difference is, presidential candidates well into their 50's, as Bush was at the time, aren't supposed to talk about "Where the Wild Things Are". That's for kids aged 8 and below. The greatest Republican figures, like Lincoln and William Jennings Bryan, are rolling in their graves...

And one of the great things about movies is that sometimes there's nudity. *snicker*

Considering literacy is not his strength, I'm not surprised to hear George say this at all. Some people need pictures to help them understand books. Maybe he also needs pictures to understand the wars going on in Iraq and Afghanistan.

I think his favorite novel is Fun with Dick and Jane (He thinks it's Cheney and Fonda)

A perfect summing up of our post-literate culture. W probably reads comic books for the pics because the writing in the balloons is over his head. It's a wonder this guy attended two Ivy League universities: just shows you that educational legacies, which have been justly under fire recently, are nothing more than affirmative action programs for the moron progeny of rich folks. In fact, W should be the Posterboy of this practice.

I like the pop-up ones the best

Our fearless leader sounds like the guy who swears he buys Playboy for the articles.

Yeah, I've heard that the federal budget has some wonderful pictures. Once you've learned how to color, we can move on to harder things, like counting quarters. First lesson (and remember this when looking at those fantastic pictures in the budget): If you have four quarters, it's really not wise to commit yourself to spending eight. Otherwise you'll run yourself into debt.

Even better are the ones you can colour.

He probably couldn't even read most of the books he owns so he likes to look at the pretty pictures
