The idea that one particular political ideology owns this is quite silly to me. Things aren't allowed because 'they're gonna do it anyway' - they may be allowed because previous dogmas/taboos/opinons have evolved over time (which is allowed by law) oops! 'evolution' - naughty word!

This is Number 1. Let's just assume that people are going to engage in immoral/illegal conduct and start making allowances for it. A favorite weapon of those who bemoan the eventuality of back-alley abortions in the event that Roe v. Wade is overturned.
