UPDATE: My son got into trouble, as a Senior in his public high school, for loudly calling down one of the halls to this best friend (who happens to be an outstanding athlete also, playing football now in college) Hey, amazing negro! which he would often call him privately, jokingly. A teacher heard it and reported his intolerant remark to the principal. They all wound up having a good laugh about it after they explained it all to the principal. I can only imagine the shock it caused. Now where did he get such a big mouth? It's truly a mystery.

Republicans actually aren't guilty of this, they don't even care! No, I'm just kidding! Maybe liberals have too much guilt or maybe they feel that people of color are inferior. Most conservatives don't believe that race is that important. Unfortunately there are some who feel that racial equality is impossible or even worse that it's natural. The reality is that conservatives are correct to assert that racial divisions are false human constructs and that sometimes multiculturalism and quotas usually end up causing more problems. The best way to go about it is to make sure that everyone starts out with an equal playing field. That concept was enshrined in the constitution and it was further clarified in such laws as the Civil Rights Act of 1964 that effectively ended segregation. And if you want to be partisaned about it, and I will be fair here, more Republicans than Democrats in the Senate actually voted for the Civil Rights Act. However it should also be acknowledged that the Republican Party in 1964 was far more liberal socially.
