 | bibliophile (10) 10/15/2004 | I have never thought of these terms as more likely to be uttered by a Republican male. Maybe my dad was just unique in that he would never have referred to my mom that way? I doubt it.

 | souljunkie (20) 10/15/2004 | I guess I must be a real jerk. Im very right wing minded and although I have not used such specific terms, I think I have used the misses and the old ball and chain thing amongst my male friends and I love and respect my wife very much. Why is this sexist?! I would venture to say most of my close crowd at the right relaxed and light hearted moment have used a term like this. Its only male bonding language in my case. It surely has never been used in pure disrespect. I have definitely used much harsher words with her to her face and again not in pure disrespect. I think Im seeing a lot of wind blowing here by people who do the same. You don't go through life with a woman being her greatest fan every day. Not with a young woman from this day and age anyway. Solenoid dh; it looks to me like your wife reads all of your ratings huh?

 | abichara (60) 03/23/2004 | The use of such terms to describe women are prevalent in both parties, but I would never describe my wife that way. She would be the most beautiful thing in my life; too important to simply dismiss as a tax credit of all things...

 | JonTheMan (27) 01/20/2004 | I would refer to my wife as a shimmering beacon of light from the heavens whose beauty would put Aphrodite to shame of course...

 | Solenoid DH (19) 01/19/2004 | I am a Conservative, not a Republican or a Democrat. But of course I vote Republican most often because I'm to the right of center. So I have a right to say this: I refer to my wife as a lovely and attractive woman, and my best friend. I can't imagine these derogatory terms being associated with Republicans.

 | ClassicTVFan47 (36) 01/18/2004 | I would never use such a sexist term to describe my wife. Of course, I'm not married yet, so I've never said it.
