09/09/2008 | Quite a good game, a few bugs (such as in the opening scenes the cop cars are blue, but get changed later in the game due to 9/11) but nothing too bad.
I actually found myself thinking of this game the other day why? I don't recall, but it was good =P. Anyhow, this game is near perfection, so it deserves a near perfect score;

12/07/2005 | Quite fun, even though Vice City and San Andreas are also out. GTA3 started the whole buzz on open-world games, and you can see why. It may not be as big as San Andreas, but I prefer that. It's just big enough. San Andreas, it's huge to the point you never can remember quite where to go, but GTA3, just right. I memorized every location and every street in the game, which made me feel like I WAS Tommy, and had been fighting to stay alive myself. No GTA game beats the city and setting.

11/02/2005 | In my opinion, this is the best GTA game of them all. I prefer that the main character cannot speak - even though the game is not as big, and does not have as many special features as GTA Vice City or San Andreas.

04/09/2005 | The first new GTA game is probably still the best just because of its revolutionary design and massive appeal of many video gamers. I remember playing this game for the first time and being blown away by it, just because I had seen nothing like it before. Yeah, Vice City and San Andreas are great in their own respect, but this is the game that started it all.

10/02/2004 | The one that started it all. How can you argue how good this game is when it has started a whole genre of crime based games. The ability to do basically anything you want from, the standard following missions stuff, to just going around killing and maiming everything in sight is what truly makes this a groundbreaking classic.

09/12/2004 | It's a good game,plus it's real dark, like not freindly and it is funny, I love Chatterbox109 and I really hate DoubleCleff and MSX. 911, I agree there are funny ads, but none of the songs on flashback are that great. And this is good but Vice City is way better than GTA III, because there's more stuff to do, although GTA 3 has 3 islands and Vice city has 2, Vice city islands are bigger. Compared to Vice city. TommyVercetti is right. It is garbage compared to Vice City, I mean you can't go on motorcycles or fly helicopters or own property or go in buildings or eat food or get more weapons.U can fly planes but they can't go in the air. Vice City and GTA3 are always on top.

08/30/2004 | A lot of people rave over this game, which is understandable. It's an amazing game. However, I have to give it a 4 because I have a few small complaints.
First of all, maybe it's just me but every once and a while the graphics glitch.
Secondly, it can get boring for a little while. You can only do one or two missions at a time. And if you get stuck on one, happily there's a lot to do. However, even with the taxi/fire/police missions and others it can still get boring.
For instance, I'm stuck on the big mission in the main area (I think it's the last of the area) where you have to buy a sniper gun and kill all these people on the boat. Well, I swear it's IMPOSSIBLE! I played side missions for awhile, but then got bored. I only play once every month or two just to see if I can do the mission, and I still can't. It's getting annoying!
However, these are just little complaints. The GTA series is still one of the best out there. DEFINITELY worth your money!

07/11/2004 | This game was pretty fun when I first got it, but I have to say, it does not live up to the hype. I thought I would have more fun with the missions, not driving around tediously from point a to point b, occasionaly beating an old woman and stealing her car. The radio stations were probably one of the most entertaining parts of the game, and I especially liked Chatterbox for its sheer insanity. But really, the game itself isn't that fun. After I got to the second island, I couldn't seem to find any fun missions to do, and the free roaming thing isn't that much fun either. It's good for having the general feel of a big city, but for me that isn't enough to keep playing it.

03/29/2004 | Simple put, it is an amazing game. The missions itself are great but, the added extras, the fact that you can ride around without limitation on time, things like rampages and side jobs through the payphones, etc. really set the game apart from any other. It is graphic, but it is also complex and it is a long game, but not in a bad way. There are just so many different paths to take, literally and figuratively. If you can get over the violence, the game is one of the best titles for any system ever.

03/28/2004 | My all time favorite Ps2 game mainly because you dont have to all ways to missions and I also love the fact that it is so damn funny and ignorant and offensive and violent and parents hate it whats not to love about it. In my opinion it is at least 10 or 20 times better then vice city. Now people thinks it is offensive to woman. Well if your one of those people who tend to think this then there is one very easy solution dont play the game. Play a little boring game of wheel of forune or tetris or something.

03/17/2004 | The graphics are pretty good albeit a bit blocky. (Note one of the female characters has sort of blocky stick like legs.)
This game is very fun and you can play it all day without having to do the missions.

12/15/2002 | I was skeptical about the transfer to 3D for the series, but it worked very VERY well. Excellent game, great graphics and very playable. One of the few really good 3D drivers out there. Highly recommended.

12/14/2002 | This game was an impulse buy and the only regret I have is letting it take up so much of my time. This is by far the most addictive game. Ever. You can f^ck around all day and never even touch the real objectives of this game - it's just that big. And it was refreshing to finally see a game that pulled no punches the way GTA 3 did. Video game violence has been around for a while, but this one finally dispelled the myth that video games are only for children.

08/09/2002 | This is one of the best games I have ever played. You play as a crook who is wanted by the cops and You can steal cars and shoot people, that is when you get caught by the cops. This game is very violent and is not for children. I like the Banshee car because it is very fast, The Tank because it ruins everything in it's path [cars, people] This is one of the greatest games I have ever played. I also like the 3-D design of the game. Want to know how to make cars invisible? Press L1,L1,Square,R2,Triangle,L1,Triange. So I reccomend this game .

replenish health= R2 R2 L1 R2 R1 left,down,right,up,left,down,right,up
armour=all buttons the same execpt instead of pressing R1 you press L2
weapons=same again but this time R2

04/11/2002 | This game is very well thought out. It's fun, challenging, and very detailed. I am amazed by how realistic some things in the game are. Basically, you are a crook and you have to take on several missions around a huge city called Liberty City. You steal cars, shoot people, dodge the police, etc. The radio stations are hilarious, especially the Chatterbox talk radio station. One warning though...do NOT drive right after playing this game. You get the urge to drive onto the sidewalk and run over fire hydrants :P
