An underrated, underappreciated classic epic. Ben Kingsley was born for the role.

A most fantastic reproduction of Mahatma Gandhi's life on an epic scale, justifying the scale of events and the turmoil surrounding him. An all round winner on acting performances (both British and Indian cast), costumes, and Photography. The Jalian Wala Bagh massacre is brilliantly picturized. It is a pity that inspite of Bombay film industry (Bollywood) being as big as it is with a multitude of high profile and talented directors, it was a British director (Sir Attenborough) who actually did justice to a National folklore.
