Air as crisp and clear as if it were newly made, and a wilderness that makes you believe in the hand of God. In winter it is incredible, fierce and implacable and full of doom. In the summer it is softer, but the flies come out, and the women wear Deep Woods Off instead of perfume. The inhabitants can drink their share of whisky, and your share too, and bar fights are a social activity.

I visited with my parents when I was like eight years old. Whitehorse is a pretty cool town with pretty cool people in it, and the scenery is breathtaking without being littered with hippies and tourists (as in BC). I recommend a visit. Everything is really expensive though.

Who wants to live in that freezing cold weather and pitch blackness year round? I'm not a huge fan of the crowds, but I do like to be around SOME human beings. However, if it were only for a week or so, I don't think I'd turn down an invitation to visit the Yukon Territory. It would probably be a pretty interesting and educational experience. But the thing is, sometimes I prefer humans for company to caribou and Canadian geese, even if they might be a little more polite. Overall, I'd say the Yukon territory isn't exactly a utopian paradise, but not that bad. Take care, everyone!
