12/22/2006 | I gotta be frank here, it's nearly impossible for me to give anything, ANYTHING, that Hendrix put out during his lifetime ( not counting the posthumous stuff) less than 4 stars except for maybe "Voodoo Child," the 18 minute one, not "Voodoo Child ( Slight Return) and even that would get a 3... This song from the debut album has ferocious drumming from Mitch Mitchell, who was simply one of rock's best drummers ever, the guitar goes without saying...The lyrics are good, the intro really catches your attention, just a great song. Masterful.

10/29/2004 | Damn good song but not Jimi's best. . .little known fact- the song is a waltz (3 beat count) Jimi wrote it after a critic claimed a person would have to be depressed to listen to his music.
