 | oscargamblesfro (82) 12/22/2006 | A magnificient achievement- the closing track on one of the best and most revolutionary debut albums of all time. Only the Beatles' first album rivaled it for impact in that decade. An astonishing recording: not only one of the cornerstone psychedelic rock tracks, but a marvel in the backwards guitar, lyrics, and overall sound of the tune. Music's a very subjective thing, but those benighted souls who would want to somehow erase the legacy of Hendrix, had better be prepared to throw out the following genres/ artists too: psychedelic rock, jazz rock/ fusion, blues rock, Prince, pretty much every subsequent guitarist, soul/ r&b bands with a rock influence like Sly and The Family Stone and Parliament, various early heavy metal bands, Lenny Kravitz, progressive rock, every power trio in the Experience's wake, etc., etc...
