05/22/2006 | Superb cover of the legendary Dylan song from Monterey Pop. In addition to this track, Hendrix, a huge Dylan fan whose influence can be seen lyrically in many of his tracks, of course covered "All Along the Watchtower" and late in his life also put down a decent version of "Drifter's Escape," which originally appeared on Dylan's excellent "John Wesley Harding" album a few years earlier. Hendrix also plays a snippet of Sinatra's "Strangers In The Night" during this magnificent performance!
