 | 7yjoe (0) 04/07/2007 | The hostility against the US has increased massively not only in the muslim part of the world, but also in many western countries as well. To invide Iraq without UN support was somewhat very unwise, and made the divide between the west and east even greater! Mabye the Iraq war is a diversionary act.. Some even say that the war agaist terror will utimately escalate to become a new world war

 | IrishTurtle (5) 06/16/2006 | Americans are truely very deceived. There is no war on terror. It was all invented by Israel and the Gov't. It has become so plainly obvious. Muslims have a true faith in GOD, it is all they have in this life and all they want in this life. Those whom the west calls "extremists" are those who are protecting their lands from these money hungry intruders who have come to steal their resources and promote hate between the east and west in order to further their own means and to eventually bring about the anti-christ.
The sad truth is:
1) 9/11 was done by Israel and America, so they could have control centers in the East.
2)Al-Qaeda isn't who you think they are. They are trained and work for the CIA.
3)Bush is not the propblem.
4) America will invade Iran
5)Another attack will happen
on US soil and very soon.
6)Insurgents who kill civilians are either corrupt muslims or Israeli forces in disquise.
God Save us.

 | Djahuti (57) 05/03/2005 | This is really bad, because people tend to lump everyone together with the extremists. The World really does not need more senseless hatred based on ignorance right now.To make matters worse,we have now killed God knows how many innocent women and children Muslims, and that makes us seem evil to them. Some wise person once said:When fighting your enemy,be careful not to become just like him. I Know our soldiers are doing the best they can in a very tough situation-and I pray for their return-but I can NOT condone the chicken-hawks who sent them there!

 | 555555 (0) 01/15/2005 | According to the Qur'an, killing a person unjustly is the same as killing all of humanity, and saving a person is the same as saving all humanity. (See 5:32.) --------->The world will not get a handle on terrorism until the Israelis are included as suspects in the world of terrorism and scuttle her activities. State terrorism by Israel in Palestine is well known but not well recognized. The world has to come around to blame where the blame belongs -----==---->There will be hundreds of attacks against Muslims but Muslims should follow the guidance of the Qur'an, kuffu aydiyakum, meaning tie down your hands. It means, take all the abuse but do not respond in any manner and this will win many hearts in our favor. Sabr in adversity (see the Qur'an 2:177) meaning patience (no revenge) and perseverance should be our response. This was the Prophet's response and he is our role model. ----------> I know that Osama Binladin is a true Muslim with in depth knowledge of the Qur'an and teachings of the Prophet and I would never suspect that he would do anything against the teachings of Islam and harm anyone who is a civilian and has not taken up arms against Islam or Muslims. His pronouncements are against the military presence of the U.S. in the Muslim lands, particularly, his native land of the Arabian Peninsula, commonly known as Saudi Arabia, which is believed by the Muslims to be sacred. Besides, Osama Binladin knows that any terrorism against American civilians would bring harm to the Muslims living in the West and Islamic interests. I would absolve Osama Binladin from any culpability in any terrorist crime involving civilian and innocent people including the bombings of two American Embassies in East African countries.

 | MariusQelDroma (37) 12/31/2004 | The hostility between muslim and non-muslim nations has been around long before Islam tooks its place among the major religions. It's called xenophobia: the fear of anyone who is not like us. We just give this most basic fear all manner of cute names. I hope it's something we can get past eventually before we all collectively burn down the world. UPDATE: Mohammed Atta and the others were Islamist fanatics. They were clearly identified on cockpit voice recorders and security cameras as those directly responsible for downing those four aircraft. If that is not proof of the attackers' identities, I do not know what is. However, I blame them and their terrorist organization, not Islam as a whole, for the horrors of 9/11. As I have said before, fear of what is different has driven many people to commit unspeakable acts in the name of God, or whatever other excuse they found convenient at the time. It is that fear that I dislike, not the excuse given. People need to grow up and realize we're all pink in the middle, even if your neighbor has different colored skin, or speaks a different language, or worships a different god then the one you were raised to. It's time to let go of hate and fear before it consumes everything we hold dear.

 | Shillelagh (0) 06/15/2004 | In the long run, this is the most dangerous consequence, not so much of the 9-11 attack itself as of the Bush/Cheney reaction to it.

 | louiethe20th (80) 05/25/2004 | How could the Muslims be anymore hostile? They cannot be dealt with diplomatically! They have proven that time and time again! Time for Sharon to lower the boom!!

 | twinmom101 (33) 05/25/2004 | Let's be objective about this. There are muslim countries out there who are very much against terrorism and Al-Quaeda. Turkey is almost 100% muslim, yet is a key ally in NATO and helping catch terrorists. Just a few weeks ago Turkish authorities caught a cell of terrorists in Bursa planning an attack on the NATO summit in Istanbul that Bush plans to attend. It's easy to forget facts like this when we get so caught up in the us vs. them mentality.

 | abichara (66) 03/16/2004 | There's always been an inherent tension between Muslim and non-Muslim nations. Muslims haven't forgotten the Crusades. To them, that was the ultimate imperial experience. It colors their views of international society, they never accepted European colonial rule because of this. Europeans haven't forgotten the Moorish domination of Spain and Ottoman expansionism into the Balkans. Tension here is nothing new. If we're going to take on a forward strategy of Western democracy in the Muslim world, we must remember that there's a long history of them not accepting interim colonial rule in any respect. They will come to democracy on their own time and their own way. It's foolish to think that we can impose our ways on them; it will only increase terrorism for us in the long run.

 | earthspirit (0) 08/22/2003 | why a one? because the Muslim world has hated the non-Muslim world since its inception. Radical Muslims today cause most of the world's terrorism and wars. They simply can't get along with other religions because their holy book tells them to kill or convert all infidels. Its a big problem because the ordinary Muslims don't speak out and demand change and tolerance. Unless Muslims learn to tolerate and love other religions there will continue to be problems.

 | BIGBABY (11) 02/27/2003 | I dont see how the hostility could increase any more. They've hated us for years. They hated us then. They hate us now. They will probably hate us later. We need to learn to live with it. Where only over in Arabia for oil, anyway, since so many selfish people dont want to drill in Alaska.

 | Redoedo (41) 02/24/2003 | Yes, this in itself, even here in America has promoted a general Anti-Muslim attitude among Americans and an Anti-American attitude among muslims, espescially because of racial profilings.

 | lily6601 (0) 01/04/2003 | The most disturbing thing to me is how it is socially acceptable to openly hate Muslims in the US now. Talk radio hosts, newspaper columnists, and the population at large spout ignorant, hate-filled comments with no fear of sanction. If you replaced Muslim or Arab with Black, Gay, or Jew, these people would immediately be labled bigots and be outcast. Making sweeping generalizations about major sects of the human race should NEVER be tolerated and reflects as poorly on us as bin Laden does on Muslims and Arabs.

 | breakright (0) 02/06/2002 | Unfortunately the topic sentence says it all. Is it Muslim and Satan Worshipers, is it Muslims and Jews, is it Muslims and Irish Catholics. Let's spell it out, put it on the table. The answer is simple, just as the minds of the hundreds of millions of uneducated masses in the Muslim world. TOLERANCE. How do you become a Muslim. Here's how. You simply say 'God is Great' and there you are. Your now a Muslim.I could do it you could do it and in less then two seconds you to can become a member of the fastest growing religious group in the world. Pick up your copy of the of the Koran and your on your way. How many Christians do you really think read the bible. The percentage is single digit. Why should Muslims be any different. The point is religious leaders in the Christian and Jewish faiths are not out their teaching hatred like the small factions in the Muslim world. If they were they'ed be stomped out. The Muslim religion needs to start policing its own ranks if it plans on venturing beyond the current 15th century standard of living they now enjoy. To say there's increased hostility between nation may be a bit early. There's still time, but its doubtful that the uneducated, poor and mislead Muslim nations will ever see our point. Right now lets key on homeland security then venture out to make a lasting peace. But lets hurry before Sadam finishes his bomb.

 | TheFreak (5) 12/09/2001 | While this has been a definite drawback to the whole situation, I find it hard to say that this is one of the most troubling consequences. I think that the increased hostility toward Muslims in the US alone is enough to make anyone with half a heart queasy. There has been vandalism of mosques, there has been racial profiling, and there has probably been murder. And the hostility between the rest of the world and Afghanistan (BTW...the Taliban are not REAL Muslims...real Muslims believe in peace and are not terrorists)---I've got five bucks that says sooner or later, it turns absolutely fatal toward everyone...

 | CastleBee (89) 12/06/2001 | Yes it is sad no doubt about it but really - what's new? Think about it – we’re talking about a world in which some still cling to every conflict and uprising since the Crusades. Talk about an inability to let your hatred go. Maybe now that they've gotten their satellite dishes back in working order they can check into the 21st century. What I'm seeing is that the majority never wanted to leave the 20th century in the first place and would not have had it not been for the fascinatingly backward thinking bin Laden and his cronies. We admittedly have our problems in this country, but it could obviously be amazingly worse.

 | ellajedlicka21 (6) 12/06/2001 | The Muslim World thinks that Americans hate them and they are hating Americans. Although this may have been partly true before 9/11, it has manifested greatly since then and it really is too bad that cooperation between these two groups cannot be accomplished.

 | Snoopy (5) 12/05/2001 | As long as these fanatics are going to be terrorizing non-Muslims, there is going to be greater hostility between Muslim and non-Muslim nations. It's a sad fact, but it is true. I think the only way to create better relations between Muslim and non-Muslim countries is education.
