03/04/2003 | Apolo Anton Ohno is absolutly amazing at speed skating. Even after the freak pile up and a BAD cut to the leg, he still managed to finish the race, and win a medal! Speedskating was unknown to many people before Apolo, and his triumphant story of his being "chunky" and having lived a harsh life, inspires many people to go out and do the same. Also, he's stunning and when he glides across the ice, it's like hes floating... he's a great sport, and has much class towards fellow speedskaters.. he handles himself very well

02/20/2003 | Okay, not only did he kick ass and take names at the Salt Lake Olympics, be dominated the 2002-03 World Cup. He's a great athlete with a great personality. He's done several anti-drug commercials which shows he cares about the youth of the nation. And finally, he is so incredibly good looking!!! He is HOTT major!!! GO APOLO

02/11/2003 | I love Apolo! He's definately got talent in his sport, and he's gorgeous!!! He's so down to earth, and despite all his female fans he hasn't gotten cocky... which is very impressive. He's determined and hard working, and I hope he competes in many Olympics to come.

11/11/2002 | Good skater but hardly deserved his gold medal for the 1000m in Salt Lake. The cameras don't lie and it was evident that the Korean skater was not more at fault than Ohna, but he was cruely stripped of his medal.

10/16/2002 | Have you noticed something? 90% of the people who rate him are girls? LOL. But, really...I've been following him for a while. He has it all...looks, charm, class, and he's so nice. I have seen him train before, and let me tell you, he mean's business. He trains harder than any other person that I have ever seen. He works so hard for what he has. He loves what he does, and that is so admirable. He is beautiful, inside and out.

10/03/2002 | Apolo is such a GREAT speedskater and he is a great role model for all. When we went to see him in New York City, he was so friendly and nice. During the 2002 Olympics he handles everything with great pride. He has over come so much to get to where he is and he has nevre given up. Of course it doesn't hurt that he the hottest guy in the world!

06/14/2002 | Apolo is great because of his spirit, enthusiasm and sportmanship he demonstrated during the Olympics. He was so excited and happy when he received his silver and gold medals. He touched the hearts of everyone (except the South Koreans) and the country fell in love with him. He is magical and charismatic. During the Olympics the viewers were asked to vote for the "Olympic Athlete of the Year", the athlete that best personified the Olympic ideal and Apolo received the majority of the votes. He is so popular that their are more than 100 Apolo fan websites on the internet.

04/29/2002 | Who can forget that Silver Medal win? In an Olympics of crybabies and whiners, Apolo set a new standard for sportsmanship. Control what you can control and leave the rest be. He brushed off the media's suggestion that his injury would hamper his remaining races, he did not ask for a rerace and he never gave in to the media's not-so-subtle attempt at getting him to trash talk against the other skaters/Olympians. He was the most gracious silver medalist I've ever seen. The class and dignity that he brought to the games was incomparable. He also has the talent to back up the hype. After all that is said and done, he has the talent and skill to back up the hype.

04/28/2002 | First time i saw Apolo Anton Ohno was on the Olympics. I thought that he was cute but didnt really know what to think of him. Then i saw him on the ice and he was really good! Then i was like "wow, he's really somtin." but after a commentator interviewed him, i found out just how great a guy he was too. i think hes awesome and genuine despite all the controversy thats been surrounding him.

04/28/2002 | Ok, so you want my opinion? This guys is absolutelty amazing! I mean, did you not watch the Olympics?! He was so gracious about everything that was going on around him! He was such a good sport. That's why I think he's really going to make it as a professional athlete. Not only is he a good sport about EVERYTHING (let's face it, this guy could get shot on the ice and say it was alright!), but he has incredible talent! He has so much passion when he skates! It's just amazing how good he is at it! And my god is this guy hot!? I mean, I never had a thing for Japanese-Americans (no offense!) until Apolo came around. He is just beautiful! Anyway, that's my opinion!

04/28/2002 | Apolo Ohno is one of the most inspiring athletes I have ever watched. He is an excellent speed skater and thrills everyone who watches him with his fantastic finishes. But I am not a fan because he won two medals at the Olympics. I am not a fan because he wins race after race. I am not a fan because of his celebrity status. I am a fan because he showed this world that a true sportsman is not about whether he wins or not. It matters whether you did your best. His grace, humbleness, and enthusiasm for his sport is astounding and motivational. Because of his effervescent love of life and the inspiring story of his past, many people have grown to be better people and better sportpeople.

He is down to earth and you gotta love his laugh and hair. He is also very mature for his age, well except for the palying vidoegame spart, butI guess no guy ever really grows out of that. He is a well-ronded person and I'm glad he represented the United States in the Olympics.

04/27/2002 | I think Apolo is great to have come from a life of trouble to a world class athlete and an outstanding role model. He handled both his victories and his losses with grace. In his post-Olympic appearances he has inspired young people with his continued example of good sportsmanship. He acknowledges the role others, especially his father, have played in his life and, unlike many 19 year old men, he is not ashamed of the relationship he has with his father; Apolo is grateful for the support his father has given him, and he is not ashamed to say so publicly. I think Apolo is outstanding as a person as well as awesome as an athlete. That is why I feel he deserves five stars.

04/27/2002 | I come from a family with a long history of short track speed skaters, and I know that Apolo is good. He is extremely talented and determined, two of the reasons for why I gave him five stars. His poise and humbleness at the Salt Lake City games made me like him even more. He did an awesome job, winning two gold medals, especially for going through a lot of things growing up. Apolo is also sexy and has gorgeous eyes and hair, but even w/o that I still would have given him a good rating. He is deserving of a five star rating.

02/22/2002 | A pretty amazing turnaround for this guy in terms of public perception. He came into the Olympics with some bad press concerning whether or not he had intentionally not skated his best during the trials in a particular heat in order to get his friend on the team. Now everybody loves him. I guess that's what happens when you carry yourself well, don't take yourself too seriously, perform, and look good on camera.

02/22/2002 | This guy's in a pretty cool sport. It's kind of like roller derby on ice. Skate around in small, tight circles. Pull down your competitors as long as you don't get caught, all the while trying to be the first to cross the finish line, without the judges thinking it's your turn ... to get disqualified, that is. I didn't like this guy originally, but when they interviewed him after he got pulled down in the 1000, and he said that was just part of his sport, my feelings about him improved.
