01/20/2004 | A great interstate that went around the bottom half of Birmingham. Great access to Hoover (Galleria, Toys R Us, Chick Fil A) and 280 (Target, Best Buy, Barnes & Noble). A great way to avoid traffic in downtown Birmingham. Also, it links with I-59, I-65, and I-20! It's planned to go around the entire city in the future--can't wait for that! As for the road signs, they are alright, but there aren't nearly enough of them. The Galleria Blvd. exit is a cool overpass. And, generally, traffic is light and road conditions are good.
