KID NEEDS TO FIND A GF

From all evidence Rowe was a clever little bastard and I'll bet he made his folks proud. The real moral of the story has something to do with big corporate behemoths and their blind arrogance that they can affect what every little guy out there does, says and thinks. Microsoft is so singleminded that it doesn't even realize it has no more right to the URL MikeRoweSoft.com than anyone else, other than Mike Rowe of course. Their sense of entitilement is shameful. Unless the kid was actively slandering the company they should have shrugged it off and seen the humour in it, like everyone else. They should stick to their core business of forcing every individual, firm and free thinker into being a loyal customer by grabbing their balls.

I've never heard of this guy, but... that's pretty damn funny.

Sticking it to Gates gets a five for sheer balls.
Mad Hatter 01/27/2005
That's funny. It shows how much Bill Gates is a little jacka__. Go Mike!

You go MIKE! If nothing else you're helping to point out how petty that mega-monster is.

Oh my god, who would have thought Microsoft was so STUPID. I think they are being punished pretty good for this $hit by all the bad PR they got. I understand they did not know that Mike Rowe was a 17-year old, but that changes nothing. Any of thair brain damaged, but high paid lawyers should understand that there is no possible way for them to win this case or to avoid bad PR. There was no INTENT to infringe on MS trademark and Microsoft has no right to demand domain ownership even if it is Microsoft2.com. The cause of all of this is the corrupt and idiotic actions of ICANN. They allow big companies to take away domains registered by other people. Moreover, the cases about domain ownership do not go to court but to ICANN panel. Who do you think wins the most: huge company or some guy? I can only congratulate Mike Rowe. This thing did him much more good than harm. He is one of the most people in the computer world, all thanks to M$.

I think this is the most ridiculous lawsuit I've heard, since the lady that sued a furniture store for tripping over her own child and breaking her ankle. If Microsoft gets ANY money at all, I think that I will probably go BALISTIC! I'm not kidding I will probably never buy another Microsoft product again... they all suck anyway.

I love these David and Goliath stories. How could anyone not pull for him? And how does this kid's site possibly hurt Microsoft? Their damn legal department is making busywork for themselves.
irishgit 01/20/2004
On legal grounds, I suspect he's screwed. However, Ya gotta believe
