 | lukskywlkr. (3) 11/14/2002 | What a piece of scum this woman was. Everybody in the building knew the Canadians had won, and she still had the gall to vote a different way to further her own interests. She should be banned from the sport permanently, with no chance of ever getting back in.

Another Cruella DeVille. Many skaters spend thousands on coaches, costumes, and choreographers. The skaters endure countless bruises to improve their jumps or spins...They push their body to the fullest. . These skaters could have a perfect program. But they won't win because of corrupt judges like Marie-Reine Le Gougne. They put their greed first.

 | sherlockbones (0) 04/30/2002 | Can I rank her any lower? No?
Oh, well. For her crying fit, I give her two stars, but for her judging - both on the ice and her mental judgement - I can't go any lower.

 | musicfan (0) 02/21/2002 | Marie-Reine Le Gougne is a disgrace. She made matters so much worse by claiming to be "emotionally fragile." Give me a break. The former Soviets have always made deals in their judging of the Olympic games. Now that the Russians have Lithuania and Estonia in their alliance, they bring in the French. Marie-Reine Le Gougne will probably be punished. One whole year of not being allowed to judge. Isn't that harsh? That was the punishment the Lithuanian judge received. Now he's back judging in the 2002 Olympics. What's wrong with this picture?

 | Roswellfan (0) 02/21/2002 | Marie is no hero. This whore sold her integrity to the Russians like Dick Cheney did when the Enron boys showed up at his office. The French official had the nerve to call her a victim. Give me a break! Judges like her should be banned for life!!!

 | CastleBee (89) 02/21/2002 | A little French whine anyone? "Oh, I'm so emotionally fragile I need someone to explain right and wrong to me." Needs to be slapped with a very large sack of 10-day-old croissants.

 | magellan (179) 02/21/2002 | I love how the French official described Ms. Le Gougne as "emotionally fragile"... as if that were an excuse for cutting deals with other judges. While it would be hard to call her a hero of the Games, she definitely created a media frenzy...and no doubt increased the earning potential of Pelletier / Sale. Who knows, maybe her "emotional fragility" will contribute to a long overdue clean up of corruption in the Olympics.

 | charliethetuna (1) 02/21/2002 | Yeah, right. Tell me the fix wasn't in. The two Russians, Berezhnaya and Anton ...idze skate a difficult, but mediocre routine. Sale and Pelletier perform a slightly easier routine flawlessly. But, judge Le Gougne has to make sure that Anissina and Peizerat get biased judging in ice dancing (why is that a sport?). Send her to the guillotine. Off with her head.
