This movie actually had me laughing my head off, because so many of the characterizations were dead on. The guy who played Kissinger was hilarious, particularly when he complains that a colleague is "all screwed up". Anthony Hopkins'portrayal was sympathetic, nuanced, and three dimensional. I liked it that Oliver Stone stressed Nixon's love for his wife, Pat. All in all, a good movie, and actually preferable to its over the top predecessor, "JFK". UPDATE: Now Wiseguy, you had better hope Oliver Stone doesn't frequent this website or "W" might become a reality!

An exceptionally fair portrayal of a flawed giant. Would get five stars had it not been for Stone's frequent inclusion of his unsupported conspiracy theories. Relatively speaking, however, this is one of Stone's better flicks.

I think it was brilliant casting to have Hannibal Lector play Richard Nixon. An interesting look at a very flawed man, and accurate depictions of campaigning and the activities of political staff. Ehrlichman's character has been sanitized, apparently due to legal problems, but the rest of the characters are strong and credible. I'll grant that Stone gets a touch over the top with some conspiracy stuff, but the political parts of the movie are excellent.

I agree with CanadaSucks on this one. Filled with more Oliver-Stone-conspiracy-nonsense, but Anthony Hopkins was superb as Nixon. For that reason alone, one should catch this film.

I think Nixon was a dog who is presently roasting in the sulfurous flames of hell- but this film was certainly a hatchet-job by Oliver Stone. Overrated by any stretch of the imagination.

I don't know about Anthony Hopkins portrayal of Nixon, but whoever played Henry Kissenger is dead on! The film makes Nixon seem much more exciting (and much more mentally unstable) then he probably was, but you can expect that in an Oliver Stone movie. Very long and with high artistic values, my kind of film.
