I wonder where I was when this happened?

Apparently this was suggested to Anonymous by Terresa Kerry! I truly hope that this topic is meant for laughs only, otherwise I must say that anyone who could believe such an outrageous theory must have some serious brain damage.

Even if this idiotic conspiracy theory came true, it would have zero effect on the election, wouldn't be worth a single point of bounce. When Saddam was captured, did Bush take a commanding lead in the polls? No, the country sniffed and said, Good. Kerry has done more to disgrace himself, his service record and liberals in general than the capture of Osama bin Laden could ever do.

You watch, two weeks before the election. Then on election Monday, the terror alert status goes up to red.

It would like finding a needle in a very large haystack, Good luck.

In case people dont realize it. the Saudies have offered amnisty to any terrorist that surrenders...Hey what a way get good old Osama off the hook. This Bush administration is the most corrupt group of people in the entire world

I t certainly could happen. News today is that Bush is pressuring Pakistan to find OBL before election. While we need to catch him, this was true in 2002 and 2003 also. Makes the US look so hypocritical.

This would provide a huge boost to Bush's re-election prospects. Osama bin Laden's terrorist network killed 3,000 people in one day. For the sake of the victim's families, I believe that bin Laden should be brought to justice and his terrorist networks should be dramatically weakened along with them. Capturing Osama won't end all our troubles. If we catch his entire cabal, it will be even better. Senator Bob Graham compared the current state of al-Qaeda to mercury. Once it's smashed up, it goes into hundreds of little pieces. The organization now lacks strong leadership, but it is still able to carry out attacks by way of smaller cells. This makes it every more of a law enforcement problem given that it's scattered across a wide geographical region. Of course, the root causes of international terrorism aimed at the US still wouldn't have been addressed. This would be the ultimate October surprise if it's revealed that we've caught bin Laden. The terrorist threat won't go away, but in the eyes of the nation, it will increase his effectiveness. The closer to election day, the better for Bush.

This could happen, maybe around the time of the Republican convention, or perhaps shortly before the national election.

Interesting... I have been telling my friends for a while now that Osama will be captured a month or so before the election. I don't think much of conspiracies--e.g. I don't think we have him already--I just think that's when the big push will be.

Oh, please, Democrat Madeline Albright proposed this theory and its making me wonder if anyone in the current Democratic party is in their right mind (besides Joe Lieberman, the one democrat that I would vote for).

This actually seems pretty probable. Bin Laden could be in custody right now. The capture of Saddam raised Bush's popularity for about a week. The Administration may make sure bin Laden is not revealed to the public until a week or so before the election in the hope that it will raise Dubya's sagging popularity.
