Being the first true prog rock bands really counts for something (unless you are the HOF and rolling stone magazine ;) but I would put Yes and Genesis in first for defining the genre and helping it reach its artisic peak. After they get in, then these guys should!

Their debut is one of the most influential albums ever, but they didn't do much else. If prog gets in, they will, otherwise they will have no chance.

Although they may bore some people with their arty-fartyness,they have expanded the envelope of Rock n Roll.Fripp is quite an innovative guitarist,and "Discipline" is probably my favorite album of theirs I've heard so far.

The most musically adventurous band in rock, their influence is unpareled with musicians. But they have never played to the rock and roll critics and the hall is a sham that represents the critics and the critics alone. if you can't sing, can't play, have a nice sneer, and never try anything challenging Then your a rock icon to them. But isn't that the Ultimate in playing it safe. "21st Century Schizoid Man", said everything that punk and heavy metal said but musically and not moronically. With the times Crimson has allways been decades ahead including today. How many bands from the sixties produce music now that is as revolutionary as the music they started with. JUST ONE.
