Like the talking heads, a completely one of a kind band that was unique, influential and groundbreaking. After that they then became superstars at the dawn of the 90s and helped get mainstream acceptance on top of their critical cred. They should really be let in at some point!

How, why, what, I mean why would they even be considered. You have got to be kidding three or four songs should never get you into the hall.

Ricky Wilson 4 string guitar is very innovative. REM wouldn't have been inspired to come out from Athens GA because of them. Band ushered new wave into the 80's. The Go-Go's, Cyndi Lauper, Madonna, owe their sound to them. So what if they don't take themselves seriously? Most of their songs from their two albums still have staying power. Anyone who says they sound dated should clean their ears.

They were silly but never took themselves too seriously-why not? At least they had a sense of humor.

Their songs are fun, but I just wouldn't put them in the same catagory as some of the others listed here.

No. Too trendy and no staying power. This is basically a college alternative act that got bigger than they should have. Love shack just aint enough!

Personally I like a lot of their music. They have more than 3 or 4 songs. Wild Planet is a cool album. Cosmic Thing from 1989 with Love Shack is a great album. But, they do have a lot of duds also. I vote them easily into an Alternative Rock Hall Of Fame but I again will be objectionable and say no to the Rock HOF.
