Dick Dale should be in solely on the merits of his guitar artistry and innovation. He was (is still) a surf rocker par excellance. He is known for "Miserlou" the ultimate surf rock tune. It had middle eastern roots, belly dancing. He arranged it for electric guitar and infused it with reverb. Leo Fender made the Showman amp specially for Dick Dale, personally gave him the 1st one. Dick Dale is long overdue for consideration to the RHOF. Now that The Ventures are in, his time can't be far off.

King of the surf guitar! Dick is as great and as vital today as he was 40 years ago...what a wonderful player he is.
