THE most under-rated bands of the Sixies, never got the acclaim they deserved.Broke into the Beat/Mod generation with passion and desire to deliver the best sound of that 1965-66 era.Moving into the Psychedelic sound with an absolute classic "Ogdens Nut Gone Flake",eclipsed only by Sgt Pepper. A sad loss to all in the U.S. that they weren't embraced as they were over here in the U.K. There is still a good following for the "boys"...Stay Cool won't you..

Won't make it in all likelihood. Only had 1 real hit in America, and the Hall is a playpen for Jann Wenner and the rest of his pals. In a perfect world they would, because they had lots of great tunes. Ogden's Nut Gone Flake is a great disc, and the mark of the really great groups to me is having loads of quality b-sides and deep album tracks- by that standard they totally qualify. One of the best British acts of their time, there were many then who are outstanding but obscure on these shores

A quality sixties band with great tunes. Of course as most people know the members achieved additional success elsewehere.

A supergroup if there ever was one. Spawned the Faces and Humble Pie. Kenny Jones replaced Keith Moon in The Who. Ian McLagan is a classic barrelhouse style keyboard player and toured with the Stones. Steve Marriott was the greatest white R&B singer ever and a vastly under-rated guitarist. He and Ronnie Lane penned All Or Nothing, Aftergow, Tin Soldier and countless others. Ronnie teamed up with Townshend for an album. One of the first concept albums in Ogden's Nut Gone Flake and a revolutionary round cover to boot. True Mods. It's about time!

Most definitely! i think they are one of the greatest bands to come out of the 60's and often quite sadly ignored. You don't get a much more amazing vocalist than Steve Marriott and with classics like Itchycoo Park and Tin Soldier i think it's about time they got the recognition they deserve. Long live The SF!
