yes....it is about time!on the same page with clapton, page and hendrix? not even close....these other three aren't even fit to shine Jeff's shoes.

Congrats to BECK-ola!

way to go, Jeff Beck, take your rightful place with all the masters; Clapton, Page, Beck.

Part of me doesn't know whether to shout for joy or just shout "Well, it's about time!" I agree with everyone that Jeff Beck has deserved this honor for a long time. He had some great support from likes of Rod Stewart, Ronnie Wood, Carmine Apice, Nicky Hopkins, Tim Bogert, Max Middleton, Bob Trench, George Martin and Jan Hammer! Not to mention one of the best-selling instrumental albums in rock history- Blow By Blow. And this year of 2009, he's got it! Congratulations, Jeff Beck!"Come tomorrow, may I be older..., maybe a soldier..., may I be bolder than today"

If it's truly the "Rock and Roll" Hall of Fame, then Beck should be an automatic shoe-in. He's won Best Rock Instrumental Grammys, had one of the biggest selling instrumental album of all time ("Blow by Blow") and his time with the Yardbirds and his first Jeff Beck Group made the Rock Guitar Hero position an enviable one indeed. C'mon - let's live up to that Ian Hunter lyric "Cleveland Rocks" and get Jeff into the Hall.

I would assume that he would be one of the cinch inductees this year. I'm curious as to what got him on the list this time as opposed to any other given year. I guess if you look back at the class that debuted 25 years ago there really isn't any obvious choice.

Hi, playing guitar for 40some years, half of them professional, and knowing & adoring Jeff Becks music all my life, there are only two questions remaining : 1. How come, he still isnt a member of the HOF ? 2. "Who else ?"

Not in already, what gives?

This is a no brainer. He has influenced every guitar player whether they know it or not. He always was, and continues to be , ahead of his time. He was the Yardbirds most important guitarist, Clapton left right away, they did most of their important work with Jeff Beck, Page came but it was done. That's not a knock on Clapton or Page. His only "mistake" was in not getting the right front man after Rod Stewart but we are talking Hall Of Fame here and not commercial issues. His instrumental work alone would be enough to make him a lock to get in. Just go and see him play today....he is in another league from everyone else.

Hello, this is JEFF BECK we are talking about. YARD BIRDS, ROD STEWART, solo carer. Jan Hammer. Open the door, let him in.
ajowoods 02/24/2007
The Hall isn't going to make the same mistake with Beck's solo career as they did with Clapton's. He could be a Sideman, but that's it.

He's already in for the Yardbirds. The rest of his career just doesn't deserve it. He was too busy living in the country working on vintage cars. Beck's Bolero is the greatest instrumental number in rock history, nonetheless.

why bother, if he is in with cream he doesnt need to be inducted as a solo

And the Yardbirds btw. Beck was one of my fav guitarists when I was younger. Loved his live album with Jan Hammer.

Who do you have to kill to get one of the greatest guitarists ever into this deal? Who aced out Jeff Beck, KC and The Sunshine Band?
Jomama69 09/15/2005
He can still play circles around Eddie Van Halen. Just for sheer talent alone he should be in.
STANLEYBELTZ 05/31/2005
The best!

Let the guitar do the talking, Jeff is one of the greatest.

A crime not to be in already!! A master of guitar on the same page with Hendrix, Page and Clapton.
