ItemImageDuring its initial 14 years of existence (1973-1987), Journey altered its musical approach and its personnel extensively while becoming a top touring and recording band. The only constant factor was guitarist Neal Schon (b. Feb. 27, 1954), a music prodigy who had been a member of Santana in 1971-1972. The original unit, which was named in a contest on KSAN-FM in San Francisco, featured Schon, bassist Ross Valory, drummer Prairie Prince (replaced by Aynsley Dunbar... Read More... at allmusic.com

Do you mean to tell me, with a straight face, that Journey is not already in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame? It is a travesty! A sacrilege! A mockery!

What a phenomenal band! They are one of the greatest rock bands ever. Certainly more deserved than most and should have in their first year of eligibility.

Their music was the soundtrack of the 80s! Everybody liked them and when a Journey song came on the radio, you had to turn it up and sing along. Steve Perry's voice is one of the greatest in the history of rock. They were very skilled musicians and all these years later, people still can't get enough of them. There is no reason they should not be in!

When they first bagan they were very good, but for some reason they decided to bring steve perry into the band, after that, each album became worse with the same whiny slush.

Some bands like this are better off without trying to make hits and just stick to the format that made them ineresting. I say no to inducting them

NO! NO! FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, NO!!!!

Journey sucks. They are the epitome of the type of music that made Punk necessary. They were the original Nickelback. If you like Journey you have bad taste in music. That is not an opinion. That is a mathematical fact. Yes, millions of people love(d) Journey. Phenomena like this occur all the time. It's why Jerry Bruckheimer is a multimillionaire. It's why Michael Bolton got to sleep with Ashley Judd instead of Wynonna. It's why Pauly Shore isn't a homeless virgin. It's why George W. Bush is President.

So many great high school memories associated with their music, even though I lean more toward metal, Journey was definitely lighter, but still delivered great music. Now they have IMO their best front man in Jeff Scott Soto (a MAJOR crush from my early metal days), and he and Neal Schon are going to take the band in exciting new directions, and if anyone from the band deserves to be honored by the Rock Hall, it's Neal!

Journey,THE BEST BAND EVER!!!These five guy's took us on an avdenter. With every album they just got better. They let us hear their pain& all the fun they had too, not to mention Steve Perry put journey on the map! When you put steve, neil, jon, in a room ,when they come out it's MAGIC. JOURNEY are pioneers in rock-n-roll,they started with early video's, then moved on to whole concert systems, so no concert goer would have a bad seat or poor sound , so many of you could have seen your favorite artist and not have been aware that they were using a system from nocturn, so WHY ARE THEY NOT IN THE HALL ALLREADY?????

C'mon folks, the list isnt asking if you like it or not. Remember to consider talent. If you dont see talent in this band you just dont know what the f--- your talking about. They were not my favorite, a little too poppy, sappy for me but they were hit machines because people still dug love songs in their day. (my day). With Steve Perry and Neil Shone you had one of the strongest rock vocal and guitar entertainers of the time. I say they should be in.

I never have been able to get into Journey. But you still can not disregard their effect on rock, as they were one of the pioneering bands of glam rock, and synth rock. They are also on their 30th tour, and have effectivly remained on the classic radio waves for years. They deserve in, yes.

If I could give a zero I would. Journey is the single most annoying, boring and downright terrible rock band (if you can even call them that) of all time. I'd rather Genisis, Boston, Yes and Rush all together in the HOF than these guys.

This is one of the greatest bands of all time! The individual talents of each member past & present can not be denied...they are all amazing! This years' tour is a must see and the new album is fresh & new while keeping the sound that is Journey intact. Those who say all their songs sound the same really have not listened to this band & are making unedjucated statments. Give Journey a try...you will be blown away! Journey deserves to be in the Rock & Roll Hall of fame! www.journeytothehalloffame.com

To put into words the positive influence that Journey has had on my life is hard to do because it is so many emotions. In the 1980's Journeys' music helped capture the fun and laughter, teenage romances and first love of my life. Today 25 years later Journeys' music brings all of the memories of teenage carefree blissful first romances and that carefree ambionce back to me. For awhile it seemed my life was getting so tragedy stricken, my fathers death only to be followed up by a close friends suicide, at 31 one years old and feeling pretty weighted down with greif and bleek darkness and all the while trying to be a fun wife and mother of two. I can not tell you what came over me and how uplifted I was after long prayer sessions and hours of the heartfelt passion of the band that is so deserving of the music hall of fame recognition. I really believe that the music and hearts of this band has helped bring years of joy into my life in my teenage years and then brought it back to me after the darkness. I can't thank God and the band, Journey, eneough for sharing their talents with me and I am sure this goes for thousands more. This years generation concert is great and is also very reassuring to know that my experience with this band will also be shared with the generation of my children. Thank you so much.

This is the band that was first dubbed with the power ballad slogan. Journey's blues and jazz roots, if you research their history, is quite fasinating. Neal Schon, whether you play guitar or not, is easily one of the top 10 players in the world. They certainly had their share of power ballads, but face it, that's where the $ came from. But don't forget their early years...they were true rock and rollers! Hall of Fame worthy? Without question!

Journey should be apart of the class of 2006 hall of fame inductions. They were pioneers of arena rock, they made power ballads popular, and they sold millions of albums worldwide. Seeing these guys inducteed would make my day. This would be a great chance to see Steve Perry, Neal Schone, Greg Rolie, Jonathan Cain, Ross Valory, and Steve Smith share the stage together for the first time and maybe only time.

Journey combined fabulous songs, talented musicians and great business sense to create something that should not be ignored by the Rock and roll community. Oh please. What a no brainer. Journey IS the soundtrack to your lives, whether you want to admit it or not. Personally, I LOVE admitting it. And so would the thousands of people that were there in Hollywood watching them accept their star on Hollywood Boulvevard. Doubt you'd get any arguement from them!
