I don't think Luther Vandross sure be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Frame. Luther Vandross is not "POP" or "ROCK", His roots are R&B, he will always be know as the Greatest R&B Singer of all times. He did cross over to "POP" but he did not do anything different. If anybody know anything about Luther Vandross they would know he was R & B. There is nothing Rock and Roll about his crooner. He is definitely R & B and Soul music. If you really knew anything about Luther Vandross, you would know that he care less about crossing over to "POP". NO I DON'T THINK HE BELONG THERE!!!!! All of his Grammys was in R & B not "POP" or "ROCK".

He was definitely pop for most of his big hits, but his roots come from R&B & soul. I am not saying he was a pop singer (he was definitely from R&B), but he may remembered more for his adult contemporary image by the voters. Best case is for the voters to cast a sympathy vote his way, like with Bobby Darin (who had a similar rock background, but went pop later), but the same didn't happen for Barry White, who also died early.

A very talented singer. One of my favorite R&B singers of all time. Has amassed a good amount of Grammys and Grammy nominations. His most recent being "Dance With My Father". Besides, The Dells made it.
