This band influenced everybody from Queen to the sex pistols and back again. Great white made Once Bitten a hit, The Drew Carey show and The Cleveland Indians both use Cleveland Rocks as their themesong, Numerous other bands did covers of their tunes. If you read the inductee list of the R&R HOF you'd realize that Mott The Hoople belong on the list more than about 15% of the people on there. The key words here are Rock & Roll. They influenced R&R more than almost any other band from the 70's and deserve to be in the hall. Just ask David Bowie, he'll tell you.

Great band, though unjustly relatively obscure in the States. Won't get in to that ridiculous Hall (I don't even believe in that B.S.) but should. Excellent lyrics, and their debut, Brain Capers, All the Young Dudes, and Mott are all 4 to 5 star albums.

Ian Hunter and the rest of MTH, were pioneers in rock and roll. The Hall of Fame is well deserved.

Not knowledgeable enough to determine their worth as far as the HOF goes but All The Young Dudes is a great song. Also they get name dropped quite a bit as an influence so the are probably a great band. I just dont know enough to vote them in.
