Peter, Paul, &Mary should not be penalized for being considered primarily folk any more than Johnny Cash for being primarily country. Cash is in the HOF, and P,P,&M should be also. For many people, the first Dylan songs they ever heard were done by Peter, Paul & Mary.

Great group in their time, but FOLK singers, not rock and roll. And not only folk singers, but about the last of their genre that was widely known, and had pretty much zero effect on music following their time. Don't get me wrong: I LIKED them. And they belong in a Hall of Fame, just not this one.

Some pelasant folk tunes, but let's leave the self-described "two jews and a hooker" out.

What part of Rock and Roll do these guys fit into. They are folk not any where near Rock N'Roll and I have never heard any one say the were influenced by Peter, Paul or Mary.

They were not rock and rollers, but had lots of records on the pop charts.

The early 1960s saw folk artists such as Peter, Paul, and Mary and The Kingston Trio having hits on the rock and roll chart. But in the strict sense of the term, folk music isn't rock music. (Funny though, Dylan's folk rock song Like A Rolling Stone was recently given an honor by rock oriented judges) If there was a folk wing of the Rock hall of fame then P P & M would deserve a place of honor but I don't think they should be in the rock hall of fame, even when comparing their music to other songs that were popular at the height of their career.
