Slade 5

Slade one of the top 70's groups in the UK. They had 17 top 20 hits betwwen 71 and 74 with six number ones. Slade was the closest to the Beatles 22 top 10 records in a decade in the 70's. The list of musicians they influenced were many including Gene Simmons, Joey Ramone, Ritchie Blackmore and many others. They were one of the hardest rocking bands of their time and kings of the rock anthem. definitely should be in the rock and roll hall of fame.

Slade 3

In the UK early 70's Slade was topping the charts with Come On Feel The Noise and about 4 or 5 other songs. Basic rock band with a broad appeal, not the greatest band ever but compared to the competition and the time they were great.

Slade 1

An extraordinarily popular group in Europe and Australia (they entered two consecutive singles at #1 in Britain, something not done again until Take That in 1993), Slade were in their heyday nothing more than ultra-simple rock and roll that was literally nothing new. Moreover, Slade set a standard for childishness that ought never to be forgiven. Their songs were almost designed for pre-teen listeners, it seems at times, and their image makes them like forerunners of teen music, not of rejuvenating rock and roll.
