A throw-back from a different era. Old school who would do anything to beat you. Ty Cobb attitude without the racisism.

I thought he was a jackass, and no better than the fourth best catcher of his era. That being said, his era included the likes of Bench, Fisk, Simmons and Carter, which is damn fine company.

The 70's was a great decade for catchers, possibly the deepest decade ever for good hitters at that position- I mean, you had Bench, Fisk, Munson, Carter, Ted Simmons, Bill Freehan, etc. Munson was a good player. I mean, I gotta be honest, obviously, I didn't care for the guy too much being a Massachusetts native and all, and he was kind of boorish- but he was a fine player, if not top 92 as this list has it, and I felt bad when I heard about the crash when I was 8- the second tragedy in baseball that I can recall. Anyone here remember Lyman Bostock?

Light hitting, rude boorish player.. Let's see Bench, Carter, Fisk, Parrish, Boone, Sundberg, Munson...yeah right about there..
