It's been five years since the election, but I still occasionally have sleepless nights when I think of what could have been. Since the election, there hasn't been a day that I haven't said Thank GOD. So I'll say it again. THANK GOD!

 | abichara (60) 02/04/2004 | Well, he nearly lost the presidency to the man. Gore has been critical about Bush on everything from his environmental policies to the War in Iraq. Maybe if he had as much fire in 2000 as he does now, he might be president today. I don't think he would have made a good President however. Like Jimmy Carter, he would have been by and large a micromanager not focused in on the big picture. Bush's problem is the extreme opposite, he's so focused on the big picture that the picture itself includes views of the planet Mars! In 2000, we really had lousy choices. But that doesn't hide the fact that both of these guys are bad enemies; indeed, they had to go to court to determine who won the Presidency. Neither had much respect for each other from the get go. Bush went to Yale, Gore went to rival Harvard. They are match-made opponents!
