Nadir Shah (1688 - 1747) 2

Generally savage warlord/despot who pillaged northern India, weakening it to the extent that the British had a particularly easy time of it when they arrived soon after.

Interested in loot and butchery, and left nothing much behind in the way of organization or infrastructure.

Nadir Shah (1688 - 1747) 3

Persian despot who laid waste to Northern India, clearing the way for British conquest. Like Tamerlane, Nadir Shah was interested mostly in pilliage, to the exclusion of any kind of long-term government. Generally forgotten now, though he was mentioned in the news recently as the last Iranian ruler who went on a rampage.
