Well, with all education bills, I would sign them w/a quill pen and an inkwell. After careful thought and consideration, 1) I would name Bayside High School Principal Richard Belding as my Education Secretary, 2) and his brother, substitute teacher, Rod(ney) Belding as Deputy Education Secretary. (VII)Since, the quill pen doesn't have an eraser, the aforementioned changes won't be changed.

Nothing happens until parents grow up about what they expect from their kids before having unrealistic expectations of schools. . .schools have been stripped of their disciplinary powers- and parents blame schools and teachers for everything including the fattest, dumbest, and least literate generation of students in the first world. . .no institution can solve this deep philosophical problem. . .

Research says that two students with disciple problems take up one third of class time. Don't mainstream them. Put them in reform schools. 3 strikes and you're out. As long as teaching is a government job, education will suffer under local politics. This is way to much waste in administration. The whole system is way over due for an overhaul.

We need to see what school vouchers can do. I believe that we need to test out in a lower economic county how school vouchers help the students. So many people fear school vouchers, why not see what they can do before we critisize them.

Government officials suck at teaching and are very wasteful administrators. Anyone else notice that? Whatever you place under the authority of the federal government, expect it to cost two or three times what it would cost in a competitive environment, and be about half as effective as you might hope. Why would anyone agree to put our precious education system under the care of an organization with such a poor track record? And then, they unionized it, don't even get me going . . .

Get the federal government out of it completely and give complete control to the local and state governments. Or better yet, privatize it.

Return power and flexibility back to the states and local districts. The federalization of the education system has done little to improve the quality of our schools or the performance of our students. The so-called No Child Left Behind is the final nail in the coffin of the education system. The idea of an institution (the federal government), which supplies only around 8% of the average school's funding, DEMANDING accountability of local schools, of which local and state taxpayers provide the remaining 92% of the funding, is appalling. Accountability and standards should be left to the states to decide, not the federal government. The law should truly be renamed No Bureaucrat left Behind. The bottom line is that the less intervention on the part of the federal government in the public education system, the better off society will be in the long run.

The president should have nothing to do with the education of the country. That is not his job. Education from K-12 should almost entirely be a local and state-wide issue. Federal intervention in school systems has resulted in nothing good overall for education other than some extra funds for a few lesser-off communities.

I would take all of the money from punk rappers and drug dealers and such and fill the education system to the gills with more funds than it would know what to do with! Schools would become massive abodes of learning with the latest and greatest technology. This would include computers, automatic doors, complete climate control systems and more. Also, teachers could not JUST teach with a certificate, a certain degree would also be required. Also, soda machines would remain in schools and ever-awesome fast food would replace the dreadful cafeteria food that contaminates our schools at present. Finally, students would recieve payment for good grades and good conduct!
